Swapping art as of June 9th, 2006

This community is for generous, creative people who enjoy making art (serious or for fun!) and would like to share their creations with others. A swapcard is a 10 X 15 cm (or 4x6 inch) completely handmade card with one side decorated on by any medium of the maker's choice.

Pen, pencil, ink, paint, collage, cutouts, prints, beads, string, photos, any medium within the card space is allowed. The subject matter is also up to the creator, poetry/prose is allowed.

Once these lovely handmade creations are made they are posted in the community for trade. Trade with someone else's card - Swapcard.

Please read the rules before joining. Join up to the fun by clicking here, then add us to your friend's page. Look at other people's swapcards and make/get your own!

Note: Only members who have posted their email here may post entries. It probably makes sense if others want contact details to swap cards. Only those interested in participating in swapping need do this.

This is really similar to the shakaiyo's idea, but as a livejournal community. His post won't let me comment, but let me just say I'm delighted he posted about the postofficeproject :)

favorite FLB book: Lordie. Um. Well, when I go on an FLB kick I usually start with either Hanged Man or Violet & Claire, so let's go with those.

likes: Well, FLB and all related things (i.e. faeries, L.A., Tori Amos, etc). Most other books of that nature, too: Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, and David Mack (Kabuki--not his Star Trek stuff). Other singers in Tori's vein, as well as movie/musical soundtracks (viva la Rent). Writing, singing, crafts--macrame, hemp, altered books, calligraphy--and swimming.
have you ever participated in Mail Art projects before?: No, because I don't have a community around here or on LJ in which I can perticipate that does cool stuff like that.

Lanky Lizards! The zines finally done!
I know I kind of dissapeared, but I've had alot of stuff on my plate these past months.
Anyway, I finally finished the 1st issue of the FLB Fanzine! (that counts as mailart, right?) Sorry that the pics are so crappy but I bought this digital camera on ebay for a dollar. I’ll try to have my friend scan a better pic .

The zine is 46 ½ pages and full of poetry, stories and art. It’s Issue #1 and it's called Love Junkies.. Costs $2.50 plus postage.
