PRESTIGE THINGYS:
Okay. Since we are still in an outdoor site a couple of suggestions
for people wishing to pimp out for prestige pointage.

• Fans (plus extension cords so we can plug said fans into outlets)


• Water and sodas


• Cooler (I’m bringing one cooler but a second one couldn’t hurt)


• Ice (for coolers)

Also, remember that the SouthEast Regional Charity Drive begins July 1st. I will be collecting school supplies for REGIONAL prestige starting this weekend (July 1st). Breakdown of items and their worth are below (Max of 30pts for the month):

• Rulers, glue sticks, box of 8 crayons, single subject notebook, colored file folders = 1R


• Packs of pens, pencils, loose leaf paper, box 24 crayons, markers, hand cleaner = 2R


• Large binder notebooks, ream of paper, art sets, dry erase boards, backpacks = 3R

School supplies will be delivered to local schools in the area so if anyone knows of a specific school in desperate need of supplies let me know; otherwise I’m going to choose random schools in the area to drop off supplies. I want to hit as many as possible.

The Camarilla will be hosting a national event for those who are interested in LARP.

Cost of the convention is $20 for members if you pre-register on the White Wolf site otherwise it's $30 at the door. If you are not a Camarilla member you can also purchase an annual membership (which is only $20 a year) or login into the Camarilla website and click the link for a 6 month free trial membership.

There will be a lot of great events and games planned for the convention so please pre-register and/or reserve your rooms now as they are filling quick.

We are now opening the ballot boxes for four different referenda, each amending the constitution for the Camarilla USA. (Two of them submitted by individual members who had an idea they wanted to see happen!) You, the membership, now get to decide which (if any) of these motions will actually take place. The specific wording can be found at the URL above. A summary for each is below.

You may vote by sending an email to us-ballotbox@camarilla.white-wolf.com stating your full name, Cam number, and a clear YES or NO vote for each of the four amendments. Votes must be RECEIVED by March 21, 2006, in order to be counted. You do not need to subscribe to any list to cast your vote, and you should receive an automated confirmation - if you do not see a confirmation within 24 hours, resend your vote to be sure.

Discussion can take place on whatever lists you would normally discuss such things on, particularly the general-ooc list (where I will be active in the conversation).


Amendment 1: Voting for Indy Chapters

This amendment gives independent chapters a single vote for RC and RST. The CC casts the chapter's vote for RC, while a chapter referendum determines which VST casts the chapter's vote for RST. Currently, only domains vote for regional officers.


Amendment 2: Resignation by Email

This amendment allows members to formally withdraw from the club by sending an email to their coordinator chain (including the club director). Currently, formal withdrawal from the club must be done by postal mail.


Amendment 3: National Ombudsman instead of NTA

This amendment would replace the NTA position on the Camarilla Council with the new position of Ombudsman that is elected by a popular election of the membership (one member, one vote).


Amendment 4: Abolish the Arbitration Board

This amendment would do away with the arbitration board, with appeals going through the NC or NST as appropriate and then to the Camarilla Council as a whole if necessary.

The lunar new year is rapidly approaching. Please come join me in celebration of the Vietnamese tradition of Tet Nguyen Dan, the Vietnamese Lunar New Years Festival. I will be hosting this event at our settlement house here in Tampa. This will be on Elysium; strictly enforced by our Master of Elysium, Dr. Miriam Coventry.

Hello all! This is a notification of our featured game of the month. The theme is the festival of Tet Nguyen Dan (pronounced tet win dan). This is the Vietnamese festival to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Most are more familiar with Gao Nian or Chinese New Year. We've managed to find an nice location to throw our version.

When: Saturday, January 28th, 2006
Check-In: 6:00pm (Please check in as early as possible)
Game Begins: 8:00pm

There will be a small entrance fee of $3.00 per person to offset the cost of site. Bedspace for overnight stay is limited and additional charge for those will be posted soon. Floor space is free of charge.

Our featured charity is A Gift for Teaching (http://www.agiftforteaching.org/ ). We will be collecting school supplies and monetary donations for this charity. A Gift for Teaching was started in 1998 to ensure that children in Central Florida have the basic tools for learning by transferring, at no cost, the community's surplus supplies and merchandise into the hands of teachers and school children in need. The schools participating are from the most impoverished areas, based on the percentage of students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. As more merchandise and funding become available, more schools will be invited to shop.

This is the time of celebration and renewal and a time to pay your debts or forgive the debts of others to you. It’s a time to pay homage to your ancestors and elders and to lavish gifts upon the young. May luck be with you as the year of the Rooster ends and the Year of the Dog begins.

Below is a description of the Gallery for in game purposes:



Upon arriving at the gallery you will note that the building resembles and old-style Victorian home. There will be two doors on either side of the entry way as you walk in. Upon entering you will immediately notice the grand staircase that will lead up to a small landing and the split into two as it continue to the right and left. The whole interior from ceiling to floor, including the impressive banisters of the staircase, is made of highly polished wood. There is a velvet-covered cord
that ropes off the staircase and a small plaque hanging off of it reading “Do Not Enter – Authorized Personnel Only”. On either side of this staircase are corridors that lead off to the back of the building.

The only other object of note in this room is a fairly large statue of a beautiful woman dressed in a long flowing gown. The statue is made primarily of bronze accentuated with gold and silver. The woman looks so alive that she could just step off her platform and join the group if she so chooses. The detail in the piece is so exacting that anyone examining it closely will note the careful stitching on her dress and the individual hairs in her eyelashes. Her mouth is opened as if she was about to say something or possibly burst out in song.

Through the doorway to the right is a large room. The room is filled of pictures of classic countrysides. Most of the pieces are fairly new, however there are a few you can tell were painted ages ago. Some of the modern paintings seem to be of moderate skill, others show amazing talent. The names signed to them are known on a few, and others have never been heard off.

A second doorway leads out of this room into a room toward the back of the building. This room is filled with sculptures of beautiful women and children playing dressed in what looks to be historic outfits. Along the walls hang painting of children
playing and flying kites. Two doors lead from this room, one is glass leading to what seems to be a garden the other leads to a corridor that heads to the other side of the house. This corridor empties back into the room besides the staircase.

The doorway off the left of the front room leads to a room filled with different historical pieces. A collection of weapons and common tools such as broom, hammers, and racks. Some are obvious very old and possibly were used at some point. Others look like recreations crafted by skillfully hands. In each corner is a suite of armor. All the weapons have some form of piece tie on them.

As you head toward the back of the house is another room, with a similar layout to the back room on the opposite side of the house. This room however is filled with a collection of paintings. Each painting shows an example of family life or a home. The buildings, dress and clothes very in periods of time, but most are French in style. In the center of the right wall, is a slightly above average skilled painting of a very old inn. The style of the painting suggests that is was painted years ago.

The garden in the back is a lovely place that is carefully maintained consisting of a mixture of manicured plants and ones that have been allowed to grown wild. Small white tables and wooden benches have been placed around the garden area. In the center of the garden is a large Gazebo capable of allowing a few dozen people to dance in it at one time. Small gravel paths lead out around the garden from the Gazebo.

This is a reminder and invitation to the Sarasota Camarilla game this Friday, November 11, from 7:00 to 12:00. Check in will be from 7:00 to 8:00, after 8:00 the VST staff will check in characters as they become available. If you will be attending please send a copy of your character sheet to by midnight Thursday. There will be prestige awards for lanterns, food, drinks, and canopies.
