In the bottle: smells like grape candy On me: smells like grape candy that's been dropped in dad's light beer, then mom's dusting powder. Possibly like a floral ice-wine or heavy muscat.
Does indeed smell kind of like new leaves in the bottle. On me unfortunately, i smell that perfume smell that always reminds me of baby vomit or maybe carpet-tile glue. Bleah.
In the bottle, as scraun23 says, it smells more like dirt than the Dirt does. Everyone's dirt smells different.
On me, i smell cucumber, cedar and one of those other things you get in men's cologne that i don't know what it is (eta: the kind of metallic that makes me think i'm hungry sometimes). Invokes memories of my grandfather's garden in Illinois. Definitely not an everyday smell, but interesting.
..that the Alley Cat System (tm) succumbed to the plague last night. Ginger tea, cranberry tablets and fruit popsicles seem to be doing the trick though - I came to work this morning. Probably not going out for sushi tonight however..
Does anyone know if Dante Alighieri believed in the flat Church pardon for all atrocities committed in crusade/"retaking" the holy land? I don't recall any mention of the matter in the Inferno, but I haven't read the other two parts, or much in the way of scholarship about it...
In an interesting twist on the power situation, our main a/c unit is nonfunctional. Fortunately we still have the window-mounted one scraun23 was hanging on to for Der Exshperiment. With that in place, we were able to sleep last night and the weekend will be reasonably comfortable.
The power at work has been consistent for 3.5 hours now.
...and at work our power is supplied by the Department of Intermittent Services. Yesterday it flickered twice and then went out and stayed out (around 3:10 pm). Today it has flickered (never staying out for as long as a minute) a dozen times or so. This has made it difficult to get work done.
At home, by contrast the power may have flickered, but never went out.
