Keeping with marikology's two posts a week challenge, here's something I put a lot of work into and then posted it on Tumblr where it was pretty much ignored. (I'm a nobody on Tumblr.)
So what kind of online fan are you? I'm a cheery 30 year old graduate student who draws beautiful fan art and knows in my heart I have a deep spiritual connection with the lead actor.
Several years ago when, I was at my last job, there was a young man visiting the office for whatever reason. He'd just recently moved to Philadelphia and mentioned that he'd heard that when it rains everyone in Philly calls out from work. I expressed dismay upon hearing this as I'd been going to work on rainy days all my adult life and now I felt like a chump.
The Pope's coming to town this weekend and for the past few month's Philadelphia's been preparing, fixing up subway stations and putting up "Watch out for Terrorists!" signs. I've been preparing in my own way by stocking up on booze, toilet paper and scented candals. I realized today it's the same way I prepare for a snow storm.
This week Porta-Potties started lining Broad Street and Walnut Street. If you ever had a fancy to come down with diarrhea and stroll downtown Philly, now would be the time to do it.
I saw a production of Arcadia last night. Gosh, I love that play.
Today I don't want to read any books or watch any tv shows. I just want to think about the themes in Arcadia and whether or not Gus was a time traveler.
Today there was a woman in my office. She wasn't a client, but she was meeting with my boss. He wasn't ready to see her, so I told her to have a seat and then I said, "It sure got cold today."
Forty minutes later, I've learned that the weather's being weaponized, she has a spirit husband she can't divorce, aliens killed the dinosaurs and the government is eventually going to herd us all into FEMA camps.
My favorite part was when she was talking about chemtrails. Did you know, every morning the government spraypaints the sky blue so we can't see what they're doing behind it.
Has anyone here read the Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey? It's all I've been doing for the past month. I'm not a fast reader, but the speed at which I've been gobbling these books up is ferocious.
If you have read them I would like to discuss them.
If you haven't read them... well, you can (legally) download for free the first book from Tuebl. (I'm a little new to Tuebl, so I don't know how it works exactly. I downloaded one book from there so far and it seems pretty easy. Let me know if there are issues, but it seems like a really cool site.)
