This cloak allows the wearer to blend in perfectly with their surroundings.
While equipped, grants Invisibility at the start of battle.Description in The Ivalice Chronicles

The invisibility cloak, also known as the Vanish Mantle in the PlayStation version, is a unique cloak in Final Fantasy Tactics, worn in the accessory slot by any human unit to grant a chance to evade enemies' physical attacks and makes the wearer invisible to enemies at the start of battle.

    Obtained

    Invisibility Cloak found in FFT

The invisibility cloak is found with the chemist's Treasure Hunter movement ability as a rare treasure at the Mount Germinas (5,5 on a panel of height 15; the treasure is at the summit). The lower the treasure hunter's bravery, the greater the chance for them to find the rare treasure over the common treasure (ether). As this is the only way to get an invisibility cloak without multiplayer modes in The War of the Lions, for most players it will be permanently missed if the player takes the ether. In The Ivalice Chronicles, the player can load their last auto save if they picked up the ether, and keep trying until the treasure hunter uncovers the invisibility cloak.

The player should also keep an eye out that the enemy chemists do not loot the treasure tile instead. If this happens, there is no way to get the invisibility cloak.

In The War of the Lions version, the invisibility cloak can also be earned through Rendezvous.

    Use

The invisibility cloak gives 35% to physical evasion from all sides, but—uniquely for cloaks—no magick evasion. Cloaks are the only type of equipment able to evade attacks directly from behind (though a unit may still avoid damage from behind with reaction abilities). The evasion can be doubled to 70% with Evasive Stance or the ninja's Reflexes support ability.

A human unit's evasive options are Parry, a shield, or a cloak, and multiple types of evasion gear can be equipped at once to further boost evasiveness.

Though the invisibility cloak has worse stats than the featherweave cloak, it has the special property of bestowing the wearer with Invisibility at the start of battle. Equipping the invisibility cloak mid-battle via Reequip will not bestow Invisibility. Reequip can still be useful on the unit who wears the invisibility cloak, to swap to another accessory after the Invisibility status wears off.

If an invisible unit attacks another unit, all of the target unit's evasion stats are ignored, whether the performed action is physical or magickal in nature. In addition, units with Invisibility are ignored by the enemy AI. Invisibility is removed whenever the affected unit performs an action other than moving or is attacked.

The invisibility cloak could be useful on a treasure hunter, who can then head to pick up treasure undisturbed by enemies. It could also be good on a support unit.

Another way to bestow Invisibility is with the ninja gear or Septième Sens, or the ninja's Vanish ability.
