History
FilmBook began in January 2008 as an independent movie news website created to publish timely coverage of theatrical releases, trailers, and film criticism. What started as a small editorial project steadily expanded as readership grew and more contributors joined the publication.
In 2009, FilmBook faced a major operational setback that threatened the site’s future. The full account of what happened—and what was learned from it—can be found in the series below:

After rebuilding, FilmBook transitioned to a more professional platform and broadened its editorial scope. Over time, the publication expanded its coverage to include film and television news, streaming coverage, editorials, podcasts, and reporting from major festivals and conventions.
In 2011, FilmBook launched its first custom site build for Film-Book.com and was accepted into IMDb as a NewsDesk Partner.
As FilmBook grew, it expanded on-the-ground coverage from film festivals and developed ongoing audio programming through its podcasts. The site also broadened its contributor network and increased its publishing output across multiple editorial desks.
In 2020, FilmBook upgraded to a newer, more professional platform and continued expanding its editorial output across movies, television, and streaming coverage.
Today, FilmBook continues to evolve, remaining focused on accurate reporting, critical analysis, and high-signal coverage across theatrical, television, and streaming releases.
