Conclusion of the year 2010
I love writing conclusions of the last year. I did this on my old blog the years before, but decided to it here this year. I love reading conclusions of previous years and seeing what I have changed and what not (=
The Start
New Years Eve was actually quite fun again. I was in Vienna with some friends. We were in the flat of the parents of a friend and went to the roof at midnight to see all the amazing fireworks. It was really cool until one of my friends hit another friend with a firework... But she didn't get hurt so much... Thank GOD!!! No crying this year, but I was convinced that I would be a Bachelor of Science by now. Well, I obviously failed, but more about this later on.
University
Not the best year for university. I finished my Bachelor-project in January with a C (not so bad for me) and I did almost nothing in the second term. I didn't do any designing project and just concentrated on a few lectures (and didn't take lots of exams). This term I am doing far too much actually and don't even have any time to do a designing project. I finished my Swedish lessons in June, started with Dutch in September. I really enjoy art history right now, architecture not so much. Some time I actually thought about quitting architecture and become a teacher, but I decided to finish architecture. Mainly because I want to be able to go abroad at some point and I can't do this, when I am a teacher. I still need to exams to be an Bachelor of Science, which kind of hurts me, considering it took me so long to get here.
Holiday
I have been abroad quite a lot this year... far too often actually. I spent 4 days in Paris in May, 8 days in London in May, 3 days at a festival in Germany in June, another 7 days in Germany at a friend's place in July, 3 days in London again in August, 15 days in Orlando, FL, USA in September and another 3 days in London in November. I love being abroad. I love being a foreigner. I love it walking through streets that I don't know. I love meeting new people from weirdo places all over the world. I just love traveling x) And I have planned so freaking much for the next year again.
"Real" friends
Nothing new here actually. I am still seeing the same people, but I have been meeting Niki a lot more this year, though she has been abroad for such a long time.
"Virtual" friends
I met a few people on the internet last year and I have to say that we grew really close last year (= We are the cheerios or obercheerios and they are just all simply awesome. I am really happy that I decided to post some icons at HP-Xperts again, because otherwise I would never ever have met them (= And I am gonna see two of my cheerios and my two obercheerios next year and I am really looking forward to it (=
I met Anika and Lena this year again. Anika came to visit me again in spring, the three of us went to a festival in June and I also visited the two of them in Germany in July. It was simply awesome and it is pitty that we rarely talk anymore, because we we are also busy :o
Music
Due to my extensive vacations this year, I didn't have much money for music this year. I just went to a few concerts and bought just a few CDs. I know it is a pity, but I just don't have the money right now... Unfortunately (but I am looking for a second job). This year was the year of Sigur Ros/Jonsi and Arcade Fire. I have been listening to these two bands most of the time, especially Sigur Ros. They make such amazing and calm music with so much power. I am madly in love with them and I am so luck that I could see Jonsi live this year. It was a gorgeous concert and I even bought a T-Shirt.
But probably the most important thing this year was actually "Hair". I saw it 3-times in London and I fell in love with it again. I haven been a fan for years and I have always loved it. I actually went back to London again to see it one more time. When I was jumping on the stage at the end of the show there were tears in my eyes, because I couldn't believe that I wouldn't be able to see it ever again anymore... They just had the most amazing cast ever... And thanks to Hair I became a huge fan of Gavin Creel, who seems to be such an amazing person. He is simply gorgeous and I am impressed that he works for same-sex-marriage in the New York. He is simply amazing (=
Movies
Actually I haven't been to the cinema so often this year and when I went to the cinema, I was on vacation most of the time. I don't have any favourite movie this year, but Harry Potter was simply amazing. This movie actually looked European for once. I just love how raw it is and the picture are simply amazing. I can't believe it that it's gonna end so soon... One of the biggest surprises this year was actually Easy A. I saw it in Disney Downtown and had no idea what to expect. I thought that it would be boring or something like that, but OMG, this movie was simply amazing. xD
I tried to watch all the movies that were nominated for an Oscar again and didn't see just about 3/2 movies.
TV shows
Well, everyone knows that I am a TV show-junkie. I don't even want to know how many TV shows I have watched this year. I watched all seasons of Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Community, Misfits, blablablabla... and of course I followed my weekly TV schedule with about 18 shows each week. I recently fell in love with Wonderfalls. Such a cute TV show ^^ And I gave Mad Men another chance. But I decided to write down all episodes that I am watching next year.
I have been pretty obsessed with Glee this year. ^^ I have been so obsessed that I bought a ticket for the Glee tour in Dublin next year *cough*. And I bought a Glee T-Shirt at Macy's.
Books
OMG, I don't think that I have ever had such a bad year, when it came to reading. I have read so much crap, I can't even tell you... I just enjoyed a few books this year, like "Solitude of the Prime Numbers" and "To Kill a Mocking Bird". And I also enjoyed reading the Sookie Stakehouse-novels. But apart from that I just read crap all the time... And I also didn't finish most of the books, because they were so damn boring or stupid...
General stuff
There is not so much I can say here. I fulfilled one of my dreams: I went to Disney World! It was simply awesome and so cute and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. Moreover I went to the Harry Potter wizarding world in the Universal Studios and honestly: it was a dream come true!!! I was in Hogwarts. It was just soooo gorgeous there and it was cute and so many details and I even bought a wand (the wand chose me... what can I do).
I had some times when I was really really sad again... I really have to work on that :o And I started playing the piano again and I simply love it... It is a pity that I never practiced when I was kid...
New Year's Pledge
