We haven’t lost the rules, however:
- Six prompts each per fandom per day. Author’s choice prompts are unlimited.
- One prompt per comment.
- Warn for spoilers in the subject line of your comment and leave three lines of spoiler space.

Summary: There's something odd in the tank
Jack came downstairs for breakfast to find Ianto up on a step ladder, hovering over their fish tank, wearing gloves and holding a small net.
'I didn't kill another one, I swear,' he protested before Ianto could have a go at him. The fish were more Ianto's thing than his, but somehow they both seemed to have been charged with equal responsibility in looking after them.
'No, they're all still alive.'
He reached into the tank and wobbled slightly on the ladder. Jack reached over to steady him.
'You're hungover, aren't you?' Jack asked, remembering Rhiannon's birthday party. It was less of a party and more of a pub crawl, with Jack offering to stay behind and babysit the kids.
'Probably had a few too many,' Ianto confessed. 'Rhi was utterly trashed, but I think she had a good night.'
Jack held him firm whilst he reached in again.
Jack tried to look around Ianto's body. 'What are you doing?'
'Er, fetching out the car keys.'
'What? How did they get in there?'
Ianto hung his head. 'I came home last night and saw you'd forgotten to feed them. I grabbed a handful of food and then I let go of the wrong hand.'
'You idiot.'
'Hey! You do stupid things all the time. At least I had the excuse that I was drunk.'
Ianto finally managed to snare the keys, pulling them out, water leaking everywhere.
'If that key fob still works after it's dry, it'll be a miracle.'

Summary: Suzie proves to be quite a distraction for Owen.
One day, she thought, shaking her head. Why the hell had she thought he was boyfriend material? Well, maybe boyfriend was too strong a word for it. Okay, so the sex was pretty amazing and it wasn't like either of them worked anything close to normal hours. There was also the fact that she was sick of having to pick up deadbeats at clubs late at night, looking for a good time, only to be disappointed by the drunken sex, sitting there in bed telling them all about her day, all the mad and crazy stuff that they'd never believe. It was lucky they were drunk, else one of them was like to call the police and have here taken away. Instead most of them were too selfish to listen to what she was saying, happy for the no obligation tumble between the sheets, and then she'd have to retcon them and dump the body somewhere come morning. It was getting to be more trouble than it was worth. Owen, on the other hand, was convenient, didn't bother with all the bullshit and just got down to what they both really wanted. Perhaps if she tried harder, they could be something more, but it was times like these that she really wondered. This was just downright embarrassing.
'I swear it was here,' he muttered, checking under the table, looking confused.
Bloody hell, she thought. They'd only knocked off for ten minutes; just a tidy little shag in the office down the hall. Using the bedroom would have been too much. Beside she much preferred the rough and ready style. She looked back at Owen who was now checking the next room. Jack was going to kill them for this.
'You're sure it wasn't, you know?' she asked, giving him a sideways glance that he found both condescending and arousing all at the same time.
'I've got a fucking medical degree! I think I'd know,' he spat back, wondering how it had all gone pear-shaped so quickly. It wasn't meant to happen like this, but God she was a good shag.
'Think you'd know what?' Jack asked, appearing from nowhere. He looked around. 'Hey, where is it?' he said.
Suzie stared hard at Owen, leaving him to explain.
He scratched he head, looking sheepish. 'Er, dunno,' he replied awkwardly.
Jack put his hands on his hips.
'How can you lose a dead body? It's not as if it could just wander off!'
'Don't be too hard on him, Jack,' Suzie replied. 'He's probably got a lot on his mind.'
'Such as?' Jack said, raising an eyebrow. Did she really think he didn't know about them? He could practically smell the sex on them. Plus, it was the only time Owen ever looked flustered. Suzie was certainly a handful, and even Jack had to admit he'd had have been hard pressed going head to head with her. Not that hadn't tried it early on, but he'd been stronger back then.
'Well, Owen?' Jack said, folding his arms. 'Are you going to stand there all day and hope that it reappears?'
Owen huffed and pushed past them both, heading out of the house and back towards the car. Suzie shrugged and followed after him.
Jack shook his head at the pair of them and knelt down, examining the spot where the corpse had been. There was the sound a light footfall behind him. He stood back up, dusting off his knee.
'The body is all packed away in the back of the car, sir. Will there be anything else? '
Jack grinned. 'You're a cruel man, Ianto Jones. Owen thinks we've had a resurrection. Bodies on the run.'
'I have no idea what you mean, sir,' he replied, a small smile on his face.
'Well, I guess that'll teach him for shagging on the job.'
'He learnt from the best.'
Jack grinned, placing a lazy hand on Ianto's hip, leaning in to whisper in his ear.
'I don't know what you mean, Ianto Jones.'

Fill: Empathy (FAKE: Ryo, Dee, OFC: PG)
She wiped her eyes awkwardly with the back of her hand and when Ryo offered her tissues, she smiled wanly. “Thank you.” Whether she meant for the tissues or for Ryo’s genuine empathy was immaterial. “I only spoke to them last night on the phone. Mum and I were supposed to be going shopping today for dad’s birthday and I wanted to ask what time I should pick her up.” She screwed the tissues up in her hand before trying to unravel them enough to mop at fresh tears. “How can something like this just happen?”
“We don’t know yet. We were hoping you might be able to tell us something that will help us catch whoever’s responsible.”
‘We’, by which Ryo meant himself and Dee, but Dee was keeping back and staying out of the way for now. He knew he was great at questioning victims and witnesses, and at interrogating suspects, but Ryo was a whole lot better with distraught families. Ryo knew what it was like to have parents, to be part of a traditional family unit, and he knew how it felt to lose them. People could tell he understood their pain, and because of that they opened up to him more readily.
“What do you want to know?”
“Were your parents having problems with anyone? Maybe someone who works for your father or used to, perhaps a neighbour?”
“No, not as far as I know; they’ve never said anything to me. Everyone likes them. Dad treats his employees like family, and he’s never had to fire anyone. The only person in the last five years who left did so because her husband got a transfer that meant them moving across the country.”
“Do you know if they’d perhaps noticed any strangers hanging around, unfamiliar vehicles in the neighbourhood, or anything like that?”
“No, I don’t think…” She paused, frowning. “Wait a minute; Brandy! My parents had a dog, a golden retriever. She was getting on a bit, but she was still a good guard dog. Mum called me last weekend, said she and dad had been woken up in the middle of the night by Brandy barking at the back door, but when they got up to check, they couldn’t find anything wrong. She thought there was probably a stray dog, or maybe a raccoon nosing around the yard. Anyway, on Wednesday Brandy was run over in the street. That was weird, because the gate is always kept shut and she never wandered anyway. But a man came to the door, a stranger, and said a dog had run out in front of his car, and was it theirs. Mum said she’d never seen him before, but he was very apologetic… You don’t think he…?”
“It’s possible. Did your parents keep anything valuable in the house that other people might have known about?”
“You think it was a robbery?”
“There’s a good chance that someone tried to break in last weekend but got scared off by the dog,” Dee put in from where he stood leaning against the wall. “Might have come back during the week to get rid of it in preparation for another try.”
“Oh God!” The young woman buried her head in her hands.
Ryo rested one hand comfortingly on her arm, waiting patiently until she could carry on. She drew a shuddering breath and lowered her hands, giving him a sad but grateful little smile. “Dad’s been collecting coins for as long as I can remember, I know he has quite a few valuable ones. Mum’s been telling him for years that he should store them at the bank, but he’s always saying… used to say… what’s the point of collecting something if you can’t look at them whenever you want to? Anyway, about a month ago he took the collection to be valued, for insurance purposes. He does that every few years, but the place he used to go to closed recently when the man who ran it passed away, so he had to go somewhere else.”
“There’s a good chance someone found out about your father’s collection and went after it; that gives us somewhere to start. Thank you, and again, I’m very sorry for your loss. If you think of anything else, call us.” Ryo handed the woman a card.
“I will, and thank you.” As Ryo stood to leave, she called after him, “Detective?”
He turned back. “Yes?”
“You lost someone too, didn’t you?”
“I did. My parents; they were murdered when I was eighteen. That’s why I became a cop.”
“So you know what it’s like.” It wasn’t a question. “I’m sorry.”
Ryo gave a slight nod of acknowledgement. “We’ll be in touch as soon as we know anything,” and he led the way out, leaving the grieving young woman sitting alone on the sofa in her living room.
“Can’t be easy for ya, doin’ stuff like this. Must bring back the memories,” Dee said as they made their way across the street to their car.
“I never really forget,” Ryo admitted. “The memory’s there all the time. But if their deaths help me to understand other people’s loss, then maybe they didn’t die for nothing.” He climbed into the passenger seat while Dee got behind the wheel and started the engine.
“Y’know what? I think they’d be proud of you.”
Ryo smiled a little. “I hope so.”

Fandom: Labyrinth
Characters: Jareth/Sarah
Author: Annissa
Beta: Aurora Kemanche
Rating: General
Notes: The proto-idea for this has been on my hard-drive since before Christmas. Since the events of Sunday night, the idea took a different turn, so I rewrote it.
The title and dialogue come from David Bowie's "Space Oddity." I own neither that song nor any part of Labyrinth and I make no money from this story.
---
Life goes on, even in the Goblin Kingdom.
Some of the more industrious residents of the Labyrinth gather at the base of the empty throne, the single chair on its small dais looking lonelier than ever. No moment of silence is observed as they begin tearing down the seat of the king who had reigned over them for so long. The throne is quickly disassembled to its base components, which are then cast into a fire to be destroyed.
One of those residents, the dwarf, looks up suddenly and separates from the group. He is quickly joined by a large, furry creature and a one-eyed fox riding a sheepdog. The rest of the workers know that Sarah has called for her old friends, and Hoggle, Ludo, and Sir Didymus are as eager to go to her today as they were ten years ago when they first promised that if should she need them, they would be there.
Just before they exit the room, the Goblin King steps out from the shadows, fists on hips. There is a long pause as the king and the dwarf stare at each other, feeling out the new truce between them.
“Tell my wife I love her,” Jareth commands before adding, “Very much,” almost as an afterthought.
Hoggle, who had been overseeing the expansion of the dais and the replacement of the single throne with a pair of matching ones, harrumphs. He’d attended the lavish wedding held the night before and had seen the look in Sarah’s eyes as she and Jareth exchanged vows.
“She knows,” Hoggle grumps as he and his friends go to their new queen.
Jareth turns back toward the workers expanding the dais and, as he thinks about the future, his stern demeanor cracks, and he smiles.

I like the thought that his love for Sarah has mellowed Jareth. The old reign has ended, let a new and better era begin. Long live the King.
Thanks for writing this.
