Rules

We do not tolerate the following:

- Twinking
- Godmodding (also known as Powerplaying)
- Unconstructive Whining
- Netspeak

All but one of the offenses results in one warning. If the same offense happens again, we'll boot the player. We have no problems doing so.

Godmodding // Powerplaying results in an instant ban.
Consider this your warning. Godmodding and powerplaying defination: Any attempt by a player to control a character that belongs to another player without permission. You do not move another person's character. You do not put words into the mouth of another character. End of story. If permission to Auto (control) is given, then this rule does not apply. Permission to Auto happens rarely however, and you must be able to back it up if challenged, so be warned.

Grammar Rule
We are not grammar nazis (okay, so except for Lauren <3). We do ask that you have a basic grasp of the English language though. Also, we ask that you keep your posts in character and concise. "Thee"ing and "thou"ing are not in character unless you're Cyan. Use the space bar and the Shift Key - unless, again, it's in character for said character to type in all lower case (say, they're going through a mental breakdown - it's happened). No Netspeak! 1F U TYPA LI3K TH1S J3N W1L K1L U 0MGWTFL0L1!!1!!! (OMG, WTF, etc are acceptable in OOC jokes, okay? JOKES PEOPLE!)

Game Dynamics
FFE2 is a very free form rpg. The greater plot in the story comes directly from the players. We have no all encompassing plot though there are events that happen in the game that affect all worlds. We try to leave these as open to interpretation as possible so you can have fun with them.

Most roleplaying takes place over AIM. Feel free to use the community to schedule chats if you have problems being online at the same time. Also, feel free to use the sister community for rping large scenes or if you and your fellow player absolutely cannot be online at the same time. We have players from all over the world, so time zones do come into effect. AIM is preferred though and the chat logs are then posted to the community.

The Journals are used as your characters' diaries. Unless an entry, or part of an entry is marked "Private" or "Private to" in some way, shape, or form, consider it open for all characters to view and comment on.

The community is all OOC. Here we post chat scenes (under lj-cut tags - ALWAYS cut them with a bit of description) and other ooc notes. If you're going out of town, the community as well as the mod's email is a good way of letting everyone know. If you want to schedule online time with another player - use the community. That's what it's there for folks.

Slash Rule
This has changed. We like slash here. No really, we do. In fact, we don't mind characters of the same sex shacking up if there is a logical explaination in-game for it. Got it? Good. Now, for the rule: go right ahead and post cute/fluffy/angsty/whatever scenes between slash pairings, however, if the scene reaches into the realm of NC-17 we ask that you cut that part out of the final, posted log. Fade-to-black needs to be your friend here (this goes for just about any and every sex/NC-17 scene whether het or slash). Got that?

From now on NC-17 logs are not to be posted to the community. Not even under a cut with the appropriate warnings. The furthest you can get here people is "R" - if you're unsure, best to not post it until you ask the mod, alright?

Role Playing Style
Generally you'll find the people involved here are comfortable with story-style rping. This does not mean it's the only type of roleplay we do. Both story and script are allowed - and are left to the discretion of those involved in the actual rp session at the time.

Game Pace
Yes, FFE can be a demanding game, however we do know that Real Life (tm) comes first. If you are unable to be online or avaliable to rp scenes for whatever reason (illness, exams, etc), we ask that you let us know. The mod's email is up there for a reason - use it please. If you are in the middle of a major plot arc we ask that you remove your character from that arc as gracefully as possible so that the other players do not have their characters locked up for however long you're going to be gone. If you can't communcate with us for some reason ("A virius ate my harddrive" is one example) we're not going to bite your head off for disappearing when you come back. We're really very reasonable, but please do not bitch that the plot has moved on without you. The chat logs are posted in the community. You may have to do a little research and play some catch up to get back in the game.

Every once in a while we will do "clean out" posts in which we ask that you reply to the post with your character(s) status - where they are and what they are doing. If you do not reply to said post chances are you are going to be booted from the game. If you are in 'vacation' from the game and have informed the mod of this, you don't have to worry.

Also, once every couple months we may ask for summeries of what you're character has done. These can be quite long (especially if you've been active) but we're not asking you to go overboard here. A simple list of "(S)He's done this, this. and this..." works beautifully.

Game Setting // Timeline
The time line is currently one year after each of the Final Fantasy games covered ended. The doors to the other worlds have been open for six months - this gives you the freedom to ignore the old and tired "Hello, my name is..." scenes. If you'd like your character to be aware of/have met/know of another character from a different game, feel free to IM that player and talk shop. The extent of the relationship between characters from different games is up to the two players involved. I will not, however, tolerate a player coming up with six months worth of backstory without consulting the other player involved. For example: Cyan's player deciding that he's been hanging out with Steiner for the past few months. Steiner's player didn't approve of that. Ergo: That didn't happen.

Make sense? Also, any changes in canon relationships have to be discussed and agreeded upon by BOTH players. Sorry, at the end of FFVIII, Squall and Rinoa are together. If you want that changed, you have to take it up with the player of the other character involved. Now, if there is no player for your paired character, then you have a little more freedom of movement - just don't make up grossly life changing things on the spot that may affect a player should they decide to take up the Tidus to your Yuna. If they're played out in-game, that's fine, but coming up with it and throwing in the backstory is not cool.

For example: Rinoa and Squall. Squall has no idea what Rin's been up to because he's been busy concentrating on running the Garden. This = cool.

Coming up with a senario where Tidus and Yuna got into a huge fight and he stormed off on her, leaving her alone. She's since been wandering Spira alone. This = not cool.

In short: please be considerate of the other players involved. Thank you.

The setting takes place in the Final Fantasy Worlds from all FF games released in the United States. This includes: I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, and X-2. XII has not been released yet, so don't bother applying for any characters from that game yet. XI is, technically, a FF game, but not in the traditional sense. Characters from that game (as well as FFI really) will be treated as OC's - since that's what they are essentially. Kingdom Hearts characters are not playable here.

World travel is done through a very special interdimentional bar. The barowner is a mod-controlled NPC named Bill. The locations are as follows:

Final Heaven
FF1:
FF2: Poft
FF4: Baron
FF5: Mirage
FF6: Zozo
FF7: Junon
FF8: Deling
FF9: Treno
FF10: Luca
FF11: Lower Jeuno

Bill does not tolerate blowing up his bar, so it's probably not the best place to have a pitched summon battle. He doesn't take kindly to that sort of thing and yes, he will take the damages out of your character's hide should they damage his properity in any way.

OOC Problems
Please, please, please bring any OOC problems you have with another player to one of the mod. I will try to work through things as best I can without drama coming into play. Present the problem intelligently. If you whine at me, chances are you'll end up on my bad side - and that's a bad place to be.

If you have a problem with the mod: I don't bite. Do talk to me as I can't even begin to fix the problem if you do not let me know about it.

::deep breaths:: Those are the rules. Respect them please.

Players // Characters

Our players as a general rule, rock. We allow a limit of four (yes, that's a lot) characters per player.

Note on OCs: Yes, we do allow them, but we are exceptionally hard on them. A player must have a record of playing an active canon character for two weeks before we will even consider allowing that player to have an OC.

Note on XI characters: Yes, we do allow them, but they are treated as OCs since, essentially, that is what they are.

Note on XII characters: Don't even think about it. The game's not out yet.

Note on FFI characters: Yes, they are allowed. FFI characters will be treated as OCs.

Those character without the strike tags around them are avaliable to apply for. The application is as follows:

Application

Email the mod with the following information. Points for creativity, a basic grasp of the English language, and originality.

Your Name
Your Character's Name
Your Email
Your AIM handle
A Small Profile of who your character is - include history, personality, quirks, etc.
A Writing Sample - should pertain to your character

Yes, it may take more than a day to get back to you. Please do not whine if you are asked to redo the application or fix things. Do not ask to "prove yourself" in game. While we may do just that, we are picky - as is our gods-given right to be.

When/If you are approved you may set up your character journal, friend everyone on the list and make a short intro post to the community with your contact info so we know you're here and ready to go.

After that? have fun!
