Now it's inserting huge ads in the middle of the story text. Whether you're logged in or not, it doesn't matter. Even if you read your own stories, you stumble upon the dratted things. Really, sometimes I just think there's no hope left for the Pit.
...when, shorty after my most recent rant, the Pit of Voles seemed to have recovered!
Now it appears to be down for good, all I get - and I'm apparently not the only one, if one can trust the outrage on the various status checking sites - are error messages, or it simply doesn't do anything.
Some things apparently never change - although my nostalgic feelings for the bad old times when the site was more often down than up aren't exactly overwhelming. *insert cynical expression here*
Does anyone have problems posting new stuff to FF.Net?
I've tried to update one of my stories today and failed spectacularly, both with the direct upload and the copy & paste function.
Of course, there's nothing on the front page about any possible problems.
Anyone else having an issue with new reviews? I got two over night last night and when I've gone to reply to them, they aren't showing on the reviews page, if I click the respond link in the email it just says the review wasn't found. I don't want people thinking I'm ignoring them. So frustrating!

Apologies if this is the wrong community to post this to! I haven't used LiveJournal in a long time, and it seemed as good a one as any. (If not, please let me know a better suited one.)
I've tried searching around, but couldn't find any answers to this, so.... Is it allowed to have multiple accounts on ff.net and post a single story to both of them?
I haven't been in the fanfic writing game for a while, and intend on making a new account, starting with uploading an older fic from back when I used to regularly write. However, I also wanted to post the story to my old account, which is dead, mostly for thoroughness' sake, considering it was technically written at that stage in my life/span of years when I used that account.
I'm not sure whether posting the same story to two separate accounts would be seen as breaking a rule and attempting to get more views, or mistaken as one author plagiarizing another, etc.
Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks for letting me know, if you do.
(Also, as an aside, I'm glad to see people still active on LJ. I know plenty migrated to other sites, including myself, and seeing the amount of dead comms and inactivity when I came back recently was a bit sad.)

Sorry if this seems pathetic/spammy/doesn't really belong here. But, I've been on ff.net for awhile now...About seven years I think? And recently, (as in the past year or so) this has really, really been bothering me but I had no one to really ask....So, here it goes:
Is it just me or are the people on ff.net really, REALLY stingy reviewers?
Ever since I started doing more serious writing a few years ago and pulled all my bad stories, I haven't been able to get hardly ANY feedback. At all. Yet, when I was a fourteen-year-old weeaboo, I kept getting tons of reviews. I see a bunch of stories in my fandoms that are poorly written, not executed well or have bad premises (in the case of Fruits Basket fanfiction seems to only come in FOUR (poor) varieties) that get A LOT more attention than mine. I get a favourite or a follow here and there, but NO reviews. I once had a story up for SIX MONTHS before it got a review and I ended up giving up on it because of that.
So, this begs the question: WHAT am I doing wrong? Besides possibly writing stories no one wants to read.
Basically, I wanna know if it's just me that has this problem or if it seems to be site wide. Because even my stats have gone down as well....Any ideas/advice is greatly appreciated!
Please and Thank You!
