A late night at the bar

Some good rping just before bedtime. And I finally get to interact with someone in character. Enjoy.

Tifa finally catches up on drinks, and leans against the back of the bar for a few moments, eyeing an empty seat at the bar with a little frown on her face as she thinks about absent blondes.

Sephiroth walks up to the bar in a curious manner watching for people who would like to start a fight. He doesn't notice the woman until he sits in the empty seat and without thinking says, "Give me your best drink"

She stops and stares for a long moment before relaxing just a touch. "Sephiroth."

"Yes?" he says as we watches her with his deep green mako eyes the ones that matched the lifestream.

She gives him a lightly curious look, and makes him the best drink she knows. She sets it on the bar in front of him. "You know who I am, right?"

He thought long and hard about this woman in front of her. Like a haunting dream memories came back from a time he wished to forget, "Yes, I do. You were with him.... Tifa right?".

She nods. "That's right." She thinks a moment, then asks, voice sounding just a touch sad, memories flooding unbidden through her as well. "How do we want to play this? you order your drinks, and I get them for you? I'd rather not...think about what happened before."

"Did you want something else to happen? Did you think I would come jumping from the darkness in the night to kill you?" He sighed and took the drink. Sephiroth shuddered lightly as he took his first sip of beer in a long time. "I'm not in that gig anymore... and I'm not one for revenge these days."

She gives him a tiny smile. "Well actually, i did kind of think you were going to leap out and try to kill me. I mean, it's not like you haven't done it before. But i'll just take your word for it that you're not going to."

He looked up at her smile and felt warm inside for the slightest moment. Strange, he had lost all emotion a long time ago. "I know when I've been beaten, and I do not wish for it to happen again. I'd have expect your whole crew to bust in if I tried to lay a hand on you."

She gives a little half smile and shakes her head. "Naw. My crew i rather left behind. We're not so much a crew these days..." sadness flashes through her eyes as she says this, then she makes herself push past it, smiling at him again. "So we're on even ground. Unless you've picked up a crew here. So far I’ve only really met two people worth having a conversation with, and one of them i had to punch out. You having any better luck on this world than i am?"

He snickered as she say that last line. "Meet people? Hardly. I've wandered though many different places not finding one person who wanted to talk me much less meet me. I guess I give of that aura, at least your not running. But I'm not surprised by that in the least. All of your were strong warriors... "

A smile spreads across her face, and she seems to relax more, particularly at his snicker. "Well, we did a lot of chasing around big monsters and trying not to get ourselves killed. I realized the other night that i missed it. The fighting." she sighs and shakes her head at herself. "I have to knock out one belligerent drunk and it's got me all ready to go out monster fighting again. I wonder if that makes me a strange girl..."

He sipped his drink and nodded. "I don't find it strange in the least. People like us were trained to be that way. You saw it where you lived, I saw in SOILDER. They made us into warriors, people who would strive on the battlefield. And long for it when our days were though. I have been in search to find people to test my abilities... and find out how I can get stronger."

She nods thoughtfully, leaning on the bar in front of him and sipping at a glass of water she'd gotten for herself. "I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right. I mean, I have been fighting since i was a kid. It's kind of hard to just shut that part of yourself off when you don't have to anymore."

"I see that you haven't done too bad for yourself though. You've found a way to put yourself back into the world after it was all said and done. I haven't so I've wandered the lands searching.

She cocks her head to the side, eyeing him curiously. "Really? I would have thought that it would have been easy for you. I mean, and don't let this go to your head, but you've got this commanding presence. I mean, look." She gestures around the bar, and everyone besides her is keeping a wide area between them and him. "They don't even know you and you're commanding respect. As for me, I wouldn't say this is really doing much. I used to tend bar before i had to go battle you, and after I decided I couldn't stay there with cloud afterwards...I just up and ran, winding up here doing the same thing I was when I started."

He looks around as she asks him to then back to her. "I always perceived that as fear, but perhaps your right. I do have to say I am surprised that he wasn't here with you. Not to bring back old wounds or anything but it was a small shock to not see him by your side or vice versa"

She looks down, unconsciously hugging herself a little and her voice gets a little quieter. "Things...didn't work out...i loved him for..well, ever. But he fell for Aeris. And even though she died...he never really quit loving her. And after a while...I just couldn't stand feeling guilty for not being a dead girl. I couldn't take the look in his eyes anymore. So I had to leave."

"Being dead is no fun, trust me I was damn close to it after the cavern crumbled over me. I had always wondered if I hadn't had killed her would he had come after me so furiously. But I guess that's not a question you can answer." He drank the rest of his beer down. "Don't let it get you down though, depression can do strange things to you."

She nods, and glances at the empty bottle. "Want another one?"

He stands, "No thank you. I must be going. The drink was very nice, it went down smooth and it settles well."

She nods, then looks up at him, a strange expression on her face, and after a moment she smiles softly at him. "Sephiroth?"

He looks back at her, "Oh I'm sorry I forget these things." He takes some money out of his jacked pocket and placed it on the bar.

She smiles, and shakes her head. "That's not what I was going to say. I was going to tell you that it's been really nice talking to you. You surprised me. Thank you."

"Well your not the only one surprised here today." He paused for a moment before speaking agian. "Could I come back in here again?"

She nods right away, no hesitation, and she smiles a nice, genuine smile. "I'd like that."

He nodded and started to walk away, stopping at the door too look back. "This is the first time I've noticed it, but your quite attractive when you do that."

She blushes, and smiles just a touch shyly. "When I do what?"

"Smile" He paused again then said, "I'll be around the area." With that he exited the bar much the way he walked in.

Tifa watches him go, still smiling and blushing a touch, until she's pulled back to her duties as bartender.
