If you pay your credit card on time and never have to deal with interest or late fees, your credit card company will start offering you cards with much higher limits, sometimes as much as 10x your current limit. You gotta remember that even if that's fine for a lot of people, those offers are specifically designed to be traps, not rewards. Credit card companies do not like "deadbeats", people who pay off their card in full and on time, because they make the vast majority of their money off of interest and fees. They want to increase your limit so that you get careless and spend more than you can actually afford.

It is extremely easy to fall into credit card debt, especially if you get comfortable. Getting a higher limit can help improve your credit score but going into debt because of that limit will tank it anyway, so just be careful.

let me do that real quick got into a lot of credit debt because of a stint of unemployment three years ago and we're still working it off this post is literally so real the even more vile part is that our limit actually increased because we were spending really aggressively due to being unemployed I say still working it off- our last job didn't really pay enough to get anywhere with it but this job does so we're finally STARTING to it's a shackle I will be glad to be rid of we actually just hit the mark of 20% paid with that payment and I think that's something to be proud of. at that rate it will take another 2 years to actually do but like I get bonuses periodically that I can put down on it as well

(having a good week) that’s right. the goal is to increase my baseline. make the spirals shallower until they spin lazily on the surface of the water, lose their suction. im not trying to fix it all at once, im trying to incrementally improve my way into something tolerable. and once im there maybe i can shoot for good
