-> 18+ following- this ain’t a nsfw specific blog or anythin but I want to post and reblog anything I please, sfw or not. sometimes you can filter out my not-safe posts, tagged #nsfw, #cw suggestive, etc- but I don’t promise that and don’t want to have to worry about who’s interacting -> self indulgent artist and always pleased to see messages on my posts or ask box. I’m nicies -> anticap. fuck cringe culture. terfs and nazis and the like will get blocked. and anyone with stuff I just don’t fw, it’s not always serious

additional note- I soso appreciate the rare art of my characters but if you’re not down to draw fat characters fat (or otherwise big features, hair, etc) some of mine just aren’t the ones for you

i genuinely just don’t think people who don’t want to drive should have to. i think driving should be optional and it’s weird that we pressure people who are uncomfortable with it into doing it

you know who we should make operate a 4000 pound machine that goes 80 miles an hour? people who are really anxious about it

the notion that it is trauma that licenses #problematic content sets such a shitty and dangerous precedent that still puts creators in a position where they need to justify themselves. it burdens ppl into disclosing deeply personal details and trauma to defend/excuse/validate their output that in no universe are others entitled to, so i think ppl really need to let that go as the go-to defense for the inclusion of dark and taboo subject matter in fiction anyway, as much as they think it is a palatable and convincing argument

these things shouldnt be off-limits for anybody and we need to construct our arguments around that

i think we've done a great job expanding the view of what a child's favorite animal can be. kids these days can say they love axolotls or pangolins or coelecanths and their decision is respected. maybe their parents can even find them a stuffed animal of it if they know where to look. and i think that's beautiful

A lot of people will judge their compatibility with someone off things like “do they have hobbies” “are they funny” “are they ambitious” “what music do they like” literally whatever the fuck. But even though someone could check all those boxes, a connection can never be appropriately formed if the answer to “do they make me feel safe” is ambivalent and unclear. Always ask yourself “do I feel safe around this person” when forming both friendships and relationships. Ask if you’re a safe person for them too. How cool a person is can never make up for lack of emotional safety on either end.

The realization that "self-harm" is a bullshit category that is intentionally vague was so groundbreaking for me, but it feels so obvious in retrospect. Whenever someone doesn't like what others are doing with their bodies but is unable to properly criticise it because nobody is actually being hurt, they frame these actions as self-harm, either physical or spiritual psychological. Once you see it you can't stop noticing it. Piercings, tattoos, getting gender affirming care, abortions, pregnancies, gay sex, straight sex, kinky sex, not having sex, wearing or not wearing makeup, taking or not taking medicine, hair dyeing, hair cutting, shaving or not shaving, wearing or not wearing certain clothes, eating or not eating certain foods, having or not having plastic surgery, on and on and on.

I like cutting and I like my scars and I don't want to stop. Even if I didn't need to cope this way, I'd still most likely try it out as a cool body mod. Cutting is not a problem that I need help with, it's not a problem at all. But I've always felt so ashamed to admit this even to myself. Even among weirdos I'm a weirdo, I thought. Even with something so basic I fail to have a normal human experience.

And like no!! Humans have been doing random stuff with their bodies for as long as they've known how to make tools! It's probably one of the most basic and common human behaviours! I myself have been doing this since I was a child drawing on its skin with a pen. So, so tired of the idea that there's a single proper way to be a person, and if you don't align with it, it means something has gone wrong. Why is it so popular even among people who explicitly claim to know better.

Yeah if you dig into the concept of "self harm", it should quickly become obvious that the difference between "dangerous self harm" and "valid self expression" is very much socially constructed and frequently shifts with the political climate.

you have to consciously unlearn racism and continue to watch for it because it will come out without realizing. because so much of society is structured around it. shrugging and going "i dont care" or "i dont know how else to say it" means you are okay with being racist and hurting other people with how much you dont give a shit about them.

maybe i’m crazy but i’m not actually convinced you care about human dignity and inalienable rights if your outlook on the world is primarily about who should die and suffer
