My name is Kristiana Colón, the picture of me isn't that great, but I'm not particularly fabulous anyway so whatever. It's the only picture I have on this computer (I'm at work right now). I'm performing at the Winds Cafe in the pic, thats why I look so...dramatic, to say the least. I'm 18 - a student at the University of Chicago. If you couldn't tell already...I am a girl. As far as music...right now I'm listenin to some soulful Christmas jams cuz college is fucking depressing and I don't care that its not even Thanksgiving yet, I want some goddamn holiday cheer. (bah humbug) I'm also a big Mos Def fan and I also claim to like, but don't often listen to underground hip-hop stuff like Atmosphere, Qwel, and Aesop Rock. Aside from being an overworked student, I'm an actress and spoken word artist. Searching my name on Google will get you some sound clips of my work and reviews of the last few plays I've done. I'm really new to this LJ thing, I haven't quite figured out the purpose of it, or how it works, but I needed something to do while I procrastinate, i.e. my calculus homework is sprawled in front of me right now, neglected as I do this. Gggrrr. Thats all.

hi my names maria, im 15, im a girl hm obviously. I live in San Dimas, California and go to san dimas high school. I mainly listen to electroclash and screamo, bands: ladytron, felix da housecat, miss kittin, the blood brothers, my chemical romance, pretty girls make graves, chicks on speed, the bled, cursive, fisherspooner, joy division,fad gadget, mount sims,visage, arab strap,interpol, dead poetic,vive la fete and several other mix cd's like tech-pop and electro nouveau. I enjoy watching movies( party monster, the dreamers, y tu mama tambien, monster, amelie, ghost world, le corbeau, american splendor, lost in translation, merci pour le chocolat) especially independent films. I like to go places, i dislike being home, when i am, im mostly in my room listening to music, perphaps reading( the torn skirt, confessions of a deathmaiden,A thousand years of solitude, Pump up the volume) or playing with my cat madison. I love interior design and painting, i find painting to release stress and its somewhat fun. My room is well decorated, its red with black stars, and consists of things that represent me. Hmm, i have alot of friends that i love spending time with. Meeting new people is always fun, i guess i sometimes come off as shy or maybe serious but i dont know, hmm yeah thats it.

resignation.

does anyone else want to be moderator? i know i pretty much abandoned this community and i guess i'm sorry but not really. it makes me feel old listening to 13-16 year olds talk about how they like to listen to either really shitty bands or such few bands that i suspect they are leaving out the shitty ones they like, and how great sex is when all i want to do is give them advice.
i've moved half way acrross the country, re-started school, and am job hunting so i don't get kicked out my apartment and don't starve. i just don't care whether your hair is cute or not. i have other things to worry about. maybe i'll change my mind, maybe i won't. maybe i'll turn this into an advice column. maybe i'll actually sing at karoke.

Interests: i often watch a lot of movies, my three favorites are Empire Records, Velvet Goldmine, and UHF. my two favorite books are the Weetzie Bat series by Francesca Lia Block, and the Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Hobbies: my hobbies as of lately have been dancing around on Venice beach with friends, wearing moccasins, and jumping into the ocean clothed. we also stop and watch argentenian flamenco bands perform on the promenade. i also play guitar and sing for my band, on the rare occasion that we actually have practices.

Whatever Else: i was just dumped by a guy who 2 days later went out with a now ex-bandmate.
