so: surface-level, i don’t think they exist in the same universe. i’ve thought about it now and then and i have a really hard time reconciling the WoL-ness of both of them (even though Reis doesn’t have to be the WoL the way Cálei does) to have them interact. which is weird, maybe, but it is what it is. (i think it’s because it’s hard for me to divorce WoL status from Reis since she was my first character and the one on whom i first experienced the story…)

that said, i think they’d struggle a bit at first if they had to fight alongside each other! they’re both primarily red mages, which i don’t think is a very complimentary job to fight together. one of them would need to switch to another job to really be effective in combat together — either cálei going support (DRK/WHM) or reis switching to summoner.

more than that, though, i think their temperaments don’t match up well, ha. reis is very independent as a matter of course; she’s spent most of her time as an adventurer on her own, and she’s used to relying on her own prowess first and foremost. cálei, meanwhile, is used to being the strongest one around, even if he’s more of a battering ram than a scalpel. (and, frankly, his pride would smart if reis outshone him in battle…)
