This is the LiveJournal Community for pyromaniacs of the Harry Potter fandom.
Do you have a legitimate gripe about the fandom?
Sick of being admonished or censored for your dissenting opinion?
If you can't stand what's happening in your own fandom whether it be in LiveJournal or elsewhere, fandominflamare is the place for you to vent.
Note: This Community is not for the thin skinned or drive by flamer. It is understood that if you bitch in this Community you are expected to:
1. Not do the stupid thing and ask for codes or promote your own Community (there will be plenty of Community "promotion" just within the arguments).
2. Not post newbie posts ("Hi, I'm Mary Sue, I'm 16, Slytherin, I've read Goblet of Fire 64 times..." etc.). If you're here then it's assumed that you're already part of the Harry Potter fandom. Not to make this sound cruel/uncaring, but your real name, age, or House don't matter, and they suck up space that others could be using to spread their rants. People will get to know you by the things you bitch and moan about, and if they ask you what your age/House is within the Comments, then that's fine.
3. Be able to back up your accusations. If you have a legitimate gripe about something, make sure you have evidence to your claims of idiocy/indignance/ridiculousness/etc. You can't just come in here and say, "Man, [this fiction writer] SUCKS!" and not have an example or reason for why you think s/he sucks. Oh, and having a legitimate gripe is a must.
4. Respect other Community members in that you do not begin and end with ad hominem attacks (e.g. "You're a stupid asshole!"); but, blatant name calling will probably happen by those too inadequately equipped to express themselves intelligently, so beware.
5. (specific to LiveJournal, mostly) Not drag whatever gripe you have here back out to other Communities. Don't cross-post anything you see here to any other Community if only out of respect for those Communities themselves. Link, yes, doubling up on Entries, no. Encourage impending flamery to come here to "get out of hand", instead of sullying other Communities or personal LiveJournals with wildly numerous back-and-forth Comments.
6. Remember that all things Harry Potter are inherently fiction, and that none of it is worth getting physically stressed over in real life. Yes, if you come here to vent, you will be putting yourself in a vulnerable position to be attacked by those [on LiveJournal] that you can't stand, but the whole point of this Community is to release the stress that has come upon you via other Communities or Groups/Mailing Lists.
7. Understand that no part of the Potter fandom is safe from criticism, and that also means you. You may post whatever you want to gripe about in regard to the fandom, as others will do the same. Messed up/alternative Harry Potter fan fiction RELATIVE TO THE FANDOM (e.g. a twisted haiku about a net famous Harry Potter fan fic writer, i.e. a BNF) is welcome in the form of drabbles/drabblets/bad haikus with nothing longer than 1,500 words. Put them in the lj-cut (one stanza haikus are welcome to go into posts without the lj-cut). Photo manipulations/parodies also must go into the lj-cut.
That said, go forth and S.P.E.W. Your bastard!mod is me, vuurvasthouden, but I won't be too much of an ass to you unless you do something really stupid (threats of violence and/or death towards other members will automatically get you the boot, but that's just about it).
