The Future of "The Fallout".

Dear Fellow Fans and Homies,

Let me begin this letter by telling all of you to take a deep breath...exhale...and take in the information that this is NOT a "goodbye" or "we're closing" notice for "The Fallout". While right now it wouldn't make much difference if we closed because we haven't freaking UPDATED in SEVEN HUNDRED YEARS, I assure you that if you read this good news for Fallout SF Fans is on its way.

Over the past year Annissa and I have hemmed and hawed over the possibility of closing "The Fallout" (please read above passage if panic attack is occurring). We are both now in college with jobs, volunteering, and budding social lives to keep us busy and off of our computers. Those are among the many various and uninteresting reasons we haven't had the time or inspiration to update. Lemme tell ya, a lot of crazy stuff changes between the ages of 17 and 21...it ain't no picnic. However, that is my lame reasoning for the lack of updates.

Our other big factor in the non-updatage was our lessening love affair with the band. No, we weren't rescinding our support or fan-ness...Switchfoot was and always will be our favorite band. But like any person in the throws of growing up, you move on and your crazed-ness lessens. There are also other arguable and relative reasons it started lessening, but at any rate...let's not get into that.

What's most important is that the fire that was lit in our little Switchfoot-fan hearts so long ago has finally been set back ablaze. While I'm not promising full-blown mega-awesome updates (although they're not out of the question) I *am* saying that Annissa and I are ready to give this whole Switchfoot-thing another whirl. I've effectively made up with my inner SF fan and I've been revisiting the albums like I'm hearing them for the first time. This means what, my friends? INSPIRATION!

I'm so excited to start work again on The Fallout. I think while there are A LOT of other *amazing* Switchfoot websites out there (Land Of Broken Hearts and The Switchfeed being among my personal favorites) I always felt like "The Fallout" had its own unique place and voice in the SF world. Plus, Annissa and I are now older, wiser, with more pretty-graphic ability than before. And also, we still make ourselves laugh. That's pretty much the point of "The Fallout" for us...make ourselves laugh and if you guys find it hilarious...BONUS. She joked.

So I hope that all of you have enjoyed the ride so far and are willing to give this another whirl with us. Come back early and often for more updates. It'll be slow going at first as we feel this whole returning-to-webmastering thing out, but hey...it's always better to get it one thing at a time than the whole shebang at once, right? Right.

Peace out, homeslices. Enjoy the Fall Tour with Relient K.

And the greatness continues.

What's up homies and homettes? You should totally check out this new Switchfoot podcast, it's The Jam:

Is it just me or does it look like in the intro it says "poocast"? Perhaps this would also be appropriate. The podcasts just get better and better.

Is anyone else jazzed about Switchfoot playing for the troops in Iraq? I sure am. Wanna know the dates for the Relient K/Switchfoot tour? Here they be:

I have hid your tour dates behind this magical LJ curtain...Collapse )

Get your tickets now or suffer the consequences.

Also, 1 dollar from every ticket will be donated to Habitat for Humanity for each band. Pretty righteously awesome. Go see a show!

Okay, I'm not going to 'break the latest news!' or anything, but I just wanted to say:

OHMYGOSH SWITCHFOOT HAS GONE INDIE AND MADE ALL OF MY DORKY FANGIRL DREAMS COME TRUE.

That is all, faithful readers. Expect actual updates because I'm sickly addicted to Switchfoot again.

Nay-sayers of Sony Unite and Celebrate!

To those of us who weren't so crazy about how things have gone down in Switchfoot Sony-generation, there is reason to rejoice! Switchfoot has posted on their official Myspace page that they have decided to part ways with Columbia records and pursue their music independently!

What's most exciting for Switchfoot-geekers such as myself is that Switchfoot will be partnering up yet again with their musical guru, Charlie Peacock!

For those of you who need a Switchfoot-refresher, Senior Peacock was the man to sign the band to his Re:Think label and acted as Executive producer of both Legend of Chin and New Way to Be Human and shared the duties with Jacquire King on Learning To Breathe! Redemption Cometh!

Good Gravy, when were we going to update again?

It's been a couple of months since either Annissa or I updated our blog, but here's the goods we've accrued so far.

Jon Foreman has opened up his own official myspace music profile located right here:
The Juicyness Lies Here

Does this mean a JF solo project may be in the works? Perhaps. However the Myspace is purported to be 100 percent authentic, so check it out!

Also, Jon has been working on some tracks with Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek under the project name "The Real Sean Jon". The website is located here (in all its non-informative glory):
The Real SeanJon

And the Myspace is here:
The Real SeanJon Myspace

It amuses me that they list themselves as "crunk".

Enjoy!
