Yosemite is a location in the pre-War state of California.

Background[edit]

Before the war, Yosemite was a National Park,[1] containing a valley of the same name.[2] Mariposa Military Base was constructed at the foot of Clouds Rest mountain, which was situated on Yosemite's border.[3]

As of 2280, the town of Paoha sat at the entrance to the valley, being the first stop for travelers wanting to scavenge treasure and loot the former National Park.[2] Pre-War maps of Yosemite were sold at Crazy Dave’s Gold Shack to aid in scavenging expeditions,[1] though most scavengers died to the Yao Guai that inhabited the valley.[2] Once reaching Paoha, the player characters of Royal Flush are able to enter Yosemite for light treasure hunting,[4] or participate in a scavenging party consisting of Tomson, Sergeant Claireese, and Bites.[5]

By 2296, a chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel was present in the region, being in contact with the Knights of San Fernando, Grand Canyon, Commonwealth, and Coronado chapters. The chapter's Elder would visit the Brotherhood base at Area 51 to talk with Elder Cleric Quintus of the Knights of San Fernando regarding a potential Civil War.[6]

Appearances[edit]

Yosemite appears in the Fallout: The Roleplaying Game expansion Royal Flush, and is mentioned in the Fallout Television Series.
