Often overlooked in favor of flashier dinosaurs, Tenontosaurus were true survivors. These medium-sized herbivores lived through a period of major ecological change during the Early Cretaceous.
Strong limbs, a stiff tail, and a low center of gravity helped Tenontosaurs navigate rough terrain and avoid danger. Healed injuries on some fossils suggest they could survive attacks from predators like Deinonychus or Saurornitholestes.
