The Rust Eagles are a faction in Fallout 76 They play a major role in the Test Your Metal event.
Background[edit]
Described as an "up and coming branch" of raiders, the Rust Eagles were formed by Buzzsaw, having seen the value in having robots do things typically done by humans,[1] utilizing scrap to create deadly war machines and combat robots. Buzzsaw gathered the best of the best botsmiths (Raiders with fanatical obsessions with robot modification) among the Blood Eagles in order to form the offshoot gang.[2] The Rust Eagles perfect their craft by pit fighting in the Metal Dome. Odessa Valdez of the Brotherhood First Expeditionary Force created an infiltration group initiative,[3] known as the Gladiators of Steel, to infiltrate, monitor, and gather intelligence on the Rust Eagles efforts.[4] The Rust Eagles are speculated to have not begun attacking Appalachia due to being perfectionists, treating Metal Dome battles as a game until they've perfected their ultimate design.[5] By 2104, Botsmith Amp has the Rust Eagle record for kills in a single arena match, physically destroying the old scoreboard showing that Botsmith Beatrice had more kills overall.[6]

Odessa Valdez: "Now that you mention it, there's a new initiative that I'm leading. We have a team infiltrating an up and coming branch of Raiders called the "Rust Eagles." They're an offshoot of the Blood Eagles that have a fanatical obsession with robot modifications. Keep an eye out for an alert from Initiate Pappas. He'll be recruiting assistance up at their "Metal Dome." My understanding is that it can be pretty dangerous, so hopefully we can provide him the reinforcements he needs."
(Odessa Valdez's dialogue) - ↑ Pappas: "Ad Victoriam! I'm Initiate Pappas. Scribe Valdez has us gathering intel on new Rust Eagle combat robots in the arena."

Pappas: "You never know with raiders. If I had to guess, I'd say the Rust Eagles are like other tech junkies I've known, perfectionists. It's a game to them until they believe they have the ultimate design."

Amp: "I'm a Rust Eagle botsmith, of course. But you knew that just by looking around, didn't you? If it shoots, shocks, or explodes, you know I made it. You're looking at the Rust Eagle record holder for kills in a single arena match. Sure, Beatrice'll tell you that she has more kills overall, but I wiped that slate clean. Now, it's about what you've done lately."
