The Perforator is a unique weapon in the Fallout 3 DLC The Pitt.
Background[edit]
Everett considers it to be the best weapon that he has ever owned.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
The Perforator is a unique variant of the Assault Rifle. It does more damage per shot, has a higher DPS, critical chance and critical damage, but a higher AP cost and significantly less durability. The Perforator fires 25% slower than the standard variant has significantly reduced spread, which makes the rifle more accurate over a longer distance. This gun is equipped with a suppressor making it silent.
It cannot be repaired with Infiltrators, but instead with assault rifles. This weapon fires two shots in V.A.T.S. as opposed to the standard variant that fires three shots.
Durability[edit]
The Perforator can fire a total of about 1,000 shots, the equivalent of 42 reloads, from full condition before breaking.
Variants[edit]
- Assault Rifle - The common variant in Fallout 3.
- Infiltrator - A scoped, silenced and stockless version of the Assault Rifle.
- Sim version - A sim-only version of the weapon which differs only in health (essentially non-degrading).
- Wanda - An unused unique Assault Rifle.
- Alloy Steel Assault Rifle - A variant named "Alloy Steel Assault Rifle" can be found in the data files for Operation: Anchorage. It uses the Anchorage-specific texture for the weapon, but aside from name and appearance is identical to the standard Assault Rifle.

Locations[edit]
- Everett will give the Lone Wanderer the Perforator once they have turned over 90 Steel Ingots.
Sounds[edit]
Behind the Scenes[edit]
- Along with the Infiltrator, the weapon's design is directly inspired by the MAC-10 wielded by Snake Plissken in the 1981 film, Escape from New York.[Dev 1]
References[edit]
- ↑ Lone Wanderer: "You got anything for me?"
Everett: "I probably shouldn't, but damn if you ain't earned it. Here. This is the best gun I ever had. A little slower on the trigger, but she makes up for it in power and accuracy. Use her in good health."
(Everett's dialogue)
- ↑ Emil Pagliarulo: "May have been up way too late (too early...) playing Phantom Liberty. It's basically Escape from New York, and I am SO down. I'm reminded of the Pitt DLC for Fallout 3. The Infiltrator gun was directly inspired by Snake Plissken's Mac-10!"
