Background[edit]
Following the Great War, Station Chief Xi had ordered the researchers at Fujiniya Intelligence Base to abandon their posts and blend in with the Appalachian locals.[1] The scientist found the transition to be difficult and longed to be back home in China.[1] Rather than learning to understand and live among the Americans, they were hopeful that the United States was as doomed as the People's Republic of China.[1] They recorded their final words on a holotape and subsequently took their own life.[1]
