Night Kid is a character mentioned as having lived in Uncanny Caverns.

Background[edit]

Described as a "dark and mysterious" attraction of the caverns who was half-man, half-bat.[1] Night Kid was found in complete darkness and surrounded by bats.[1] He was 2 feet tall, weighed 19 pounds, and had been feeding on moths to survive.[1] The audio tour stated that the reason Night Kid was able to thrive due to the "abundant sources of shelter, fresh water, and bugs for protein."[2]

In the Dead End part of the caverns, Night Kid was engaged in a standoff with federal marshals.[3] He had grown to five feet tall and was captured by the marshals, subsequently kept in captivity for a decade.[3] Night Kid was freed under "mysterious circumstances" and returned to live in the caverns.[3]

Notes[edit]

Behind the Scenes[edit]

The story of the Night Kid parallels the real world urban legend of the Bat Boy. The Bat Boy was found in Lewisburg, WV, in the Lost World Caverns.[Ext 1] In game, the legend of the Night Kid is heard at Uncanny Caverns, which is located near Lewisburg.
