A Gecko Hide is a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Gameplay[edit]
The skin of a gecko. This item can be turned into a Tanned Gecko Hide at a Campfire if the Courier has a Survival skill of 25, increasing its value to 50 Caps. It requires:
- One gecko hide.
- One Turpentine.
- One White Horsenettle.
With Honest Hearts, a Repair skill of 25 allows the player character to fashion Leather Belts from gecko hides at a Workbench, with each hide yielding three belts.

Obtained from dead geckos.
Notes[edit]
Prior to Patch 1.2.0.31x, tanning a gecko hide required five White Horsenettles.
Behind the Scenes[edit]
In Fallout 2, it was possible to take the skin of a Little Gecko or Golden Gecko through the perk Gecko Skinning.
