The Founding Fathers are individuals who founded the United States.
Background[edit]
The group opposed the American colonies' rule by a king.[1] Many of the Founding Fathers met or gave speeches at Faneuil Hall which led to the building’s nickname, "the Cradle of Liberty."[2] Button Gwinnett is named after one of the Founding Fathers.[3] Many of the Founding Fathers were inventors, including Benjamin Franklin who invented the lightning rod and Thomas Jefferson who invented the United States Army's Disk Cipher.[4]
