User Name Changes can be requested by users by utilizing the following process.
Background[edit]
Wiki software allows Overseers to change any user account to a new name, as long as it's not already in use by someone else. User names must be appropriate and support a positive editing environment. Our policy mirrors that which can be found here.
Instructions[edit]
- Create a new subsection under "Open Requests" using this syntax:
=== CurrentName to NewName === - Leave a comment as to why you want the change, sign with ~~~~ and then save the page.
- Overseers will reach out to you on your user page whether the name change is accepted or rejected, and if rejected, provide a reason.
- If approved, the name will be changed across the site.
- If your request is to change from a Dead Name, reach out to an Overseer and let them know this. The name change will not be recorded here.
