Texture Mining[edit]
| Instructions | Example |
|---|---|
First we will open an archive, which is essentially just finding the game we want. Archives are located in the game's Data folder, e.g.
|
|
| For our purposes, we will be finding a sign in Far Harbor. But if you don't have Fallout 4, any game will do (works for FO3, FNV, FO4, FO76). | |
| At the bottom, we will type "sign" to reduce the number of results. | |
| You can double click on any of them to see if it is what you are looking for (the file names give a lot of hints too). Make a new folder on your desktop to export the images to. | |
| Then select however many DDS (the type of files these are) you want, then click Extract, and then select your new folder. | |
| Now you have tons of Far Harbor textures, fresh from the mines. The next lesson will go over how to convert these images from DDS to png/webp for uploading to the wiki. |
Badge[edit]
To earn a badge, let me know what image you mined (a screenshot will suffice!)
