The Destitute Traveler was previously found at the 188 Trading Post in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[edit]
Destitute Travelers are individuals traveling from California to New Vegas who were gambling to win big, but instead, were quickly drained of Bottle Caps. Destitute Travelers will share their dismay with the Courier, stating "I came east to strike it rich, and now I'm broker than ever. What do I tell my family back home?"[1]

- The Destitute Traveler would act hostile towards the Courier if they have a negative reputation with the NCR.
- The Destitute Traveler would ask the Courier to spare Caps. They could lend him 25 Caps but received no Karma for doing so.
- The unused quest Chip Provenance includes targeting data that leads to the Destitute Traveler.
