Kenneth Vigue

Kenneth Vigue or CHADFallout76Podcast is a writer, podcaster, and community organizer best known as the creator and host of CHAD: A Fallout 76 Story and the founder of Fallout For Hope, a global charity initiative within the Fallout gaming community.

Background[edit]

Kenneth Vigue developed a passion for storytelling at a young age.[1] Raised in New Brunswick, Canada, he spent summers with his grandmother, who introduced him to vintage radio plays at a local library.[1] This exposure sparked a lifelong interest in audio storytelling. After a period of focusing on his career, he returned to writing with the release of Fallout 76.[1]

CHAD: A Fallout 76 Story[edit]

In December 2018, Vigue began writing journal entries about an optimistic anti-hero named Simon and his adventures in the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 76. These stories quickly gained popularity within Fallout fan communities. The first episode of the podcast launched on May 12, 2019, and has since amassed over 300,000 listeners across various platforms. The CHAD: A Fallout 76 Story podcast features dark humor, rich storytelling, and an ensemble cast, including celebrity guest appearances and original voice actors.[2][3]

In December of 2018, after imbibing many alcoholic beverages and hanging with some virtual friends in Fallout 76, we reminisced about our childhood years while exploring the interior of the high school in Grafton. I recalled the typical high school jock and all around bully named Chad and soon we all realized we ALL had known a Chad.

With a background in writing, I began to wonder what would happen if you were trapped in a place all your life with a Chad. Then, when the door opens and you are tasked with rebuilding civilization...that person follows you. I began penning some funny journal entries of an optimistic anti-hero named Simon and his ongoing adventures trying to escape from Chad and shared them in Facebook Fallout 76 groups. They quickly became popular and people started asking for a podcast.

Since then, over 300,000 people have tuned in and shared in Simon's ridiculous adventures. From just 23 original stories has blossomed a full cast dark comedy audio drama.

Main article: Fallout For Hope

In 2020, Vigue founded Fallout For Hope, a charity initiative that unites Fallout players, streamers, and content creators to raise funds for causes like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The initiative began after the Fallout community mobilized to support individuals facing personal hardships. Vigue envisioned a global effort where the community could come together for a common cause.[4]

Fallout For Hope's events include livestreams, charity superstreams, and collaborations with voice actors and developers. In December 2021, the initiative raised $106,000 for St. Jude in just two weeks, featuring activities like esports tournaments, trivia games, and live performances.[5]

Vigue's contributions to the Fallout community have been recognized by various media outlets.[6][7] He was featured in a community spotlight by Tiltify News and in October 2024, Fallout For Hope was featured on the Fallout 76 Community Feature, acknowledging its impact within the community.[8]

Fallout For Hope was born in 2020 after the Fallout Community mobilized to help individuals in the community struggling through tragedy and hardship. If we could help one person, what if a global community of Fallout gamers, streamers and content creators mobilized for one cause? Since it's inception Fallout For Hope has garnered the support of gamers all over the world for St. Jude and other worthy causes to make a difference in the world.falloutforhope.com
