importantly: this is fine. it’s not a tragedy about things spiraling out of control or the dangers of obsession. they are regular girls living mundane lives and oblivious to the fact that they are working through their own adolescent feelings via fiction in a way that is uncomfortable/embarrassing to witness but not actually tragic. no one is murdered outside of the fanfic though there is dark humor in the over-the-top fictional melodrama through which they are translating their big normal teen feelings.
