uring my exploration into other worlds (via the internet), I was really struck by the art of Marta Dahling and Cornacchia. As I have said recently, I love vivid pictures of ethereal ladies in lush, flowing dresses (preferably corseted) and Dahling's work offers all that in spades; particularly in her Seven Deadly Sins series:

I then stumbled across the art of Cornacchia. I don't know too much about him/her yet as I haven't done any research and their website doesn't contain any information. I was really struck by the vividness of the pictures and how wonderfully other-worldly they are. Beautiful.

I love fantasy art :)

ene Thomas has just released new prints, among them, is this lovely piece entitled "Moon Indigo":





There are so many things about this picture that I love. I'm a big fan of long, flowing dresses and this is a talent that Nene really excels at. I love the little kitten sat with the faery and the fact that it's a picture of a kitten that Nene rescued is a lovely touch. I also love the wistful expression on the faery's face. I know that Nene and her husband are still working away at their epic tale The Zarryiostrom which will be full of Nene's illustrations, but I'd really like it if Nene put out another art book in the same vein as Parting the Veil.

Music-wise, I've been listening to Metamorphine a lot by Leandra. I love her voice. Check out her page where you can listen to some of her songs. "Angeldaemon" is currently my favourite.

his is an artist who's work I have encountered before but never known her name. I was in a weird and wonderful shop full of faeries and dragons and happened upon some greeting cards and I recognised some of the art. Luckily, on the back, the artist was credited so I duly googled her when I got home.

Anne Stokes

I'm really taken by quite a few of her images. I absolutely love her dragons and especially the bond between dragon and lady. There's just something really moving about them. See under the cut for some examples!

I've sent Anne an e-mail, enquiring as to whether she has any plans for producing a book of her art as I love collecting art books. I've e-mailed a few artists that I admire already. Rachel Anderson got back to me really quickly and said that she would love to produce a book but at this stage, she doesn't feel like she has enough images yet to compile in book form. I received an e-mail from Susan McKivergan tonight to say that she's working on a book at the moment which I'm really happy about. I love art prints, but I already have too many that I still haven't found frames for, and it's just nice to be able to curl up on the sofa with some ethereal music on in the background and lose myself in fantasy art for a few hours :)

y wish list for art books just seems to get longer and longer. I am currently lusting after the following books and I hope that one day, they will all be residing on my book shelf.

Gothic Fantasies: The Paintings of Anne Sudworth

Her paintings of woods at moonlight are so striking, ethereal and haunting. I'm in love with her work. If I ever get to go to Whitby Goth Weekend again, I'll definitely be checking out her stall. The collectors edition of the book looks delicious, but I am poor so when I do have any pence, I'll be getting the normal edition!

Charlotte Bird: Tales from Fairyland

I've been a fan of Charlotte Bird's faery photography for some time now. I haven't been able to afford to buy any of her prints (and I already have so many other prints by other artists that have been stuck in boxes ages waiting to be framed) so to have a collection in book form would be wonderful.

Cris Ortega: Forgotten 2

I discovered the art of Cris Ortega very recently and I was lucky enough to get her first book, Forgotten 1. I've been waiting for a while now for this book to be available in English, but it has yet to materialise, so it continues to languish on my wish list.

Melanie Delon: Elixir

I came across this book as I was browsing the Heavy Metal website and I loved her work and was really pleased to see she had a book out. When I really admire an artist's work, I like to have a collection of their work in book format. I love collecting art books and being able to curl up and look through them.

Victoria Frances: Arlene's Heart

While this looks quite different to Victoria's Favole series, I'd still like to check this out. I got an e-mail from Amazon today to tempt me to buy it and they do have it for a good price, but alas, I can't throw money at books willy-nilly so I shall have to bide my time!

And, unrelated to books, I'm still looking to get my hands of Artesia's latest album Llydaw. I've listened to some preview clips and it sounds gorgeous. I'm a big fan of their last 2 offerings. Bit annoying really, having to spend money on bills and food!

asmine Becket-Griffith has a new book out. I was sat here a few minutes ago thinking that I had seen a lot of her art recently that had really caught my eye and I thought I'd have a peep at her website to see if she had a new book or plans for one. I was very pleased to find that she did have one just out.

I couldn't resist and have purchased a copy, especially as it will arrive signed and personalised.

There are some previews of the book on her website. It looks lovely.

uring my internet mooching this morning, I came across Susan McKivergan's website and her art really struck me. Her main gallery is situated on Deviant Art. Like most artists that I become fond off, I wish her artwork was available in a book, but a lot of her work is available to buy as prints/greetings cards at reasonable prices so maybe I'll get something at some point.
