Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good book in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO What A Ride!"

Travel, in the younger sort, is a part of education; in the elder, a part of experience. - Francis Bacon

"Sanity is a cozy lie." - Susan Sontag
"If you don't have something nice to say about someone, sit next to me." - Dorothy Parker
"Cynicism is an unpleasant way of saying the truth." - Lillian Hellman

This community/journal was started because a girl I work with (she knows who she is) had made the suggestion that I blog my trip to New York. Clearly, being the highly suggestible type, I quickly set this up. Since this may or may not be read by people who would be offended by the atrocious language that I favor in real life I will do my best to cut out the swearing... though if I'm relaying a conversation the swears will remain intact. So here I will record my NY travelogue (aka travelblog)... and hopefully travels beyond that.

Oh, and in the off chance that you've stumbled upon this lj by accident, here's a little bit of info on me: I'm a 24 year old blonde with the attention span of a peanut... omg! Look a squirrel! Usually I'm reading, having my brain fried by doing homework or studying for mid-terms/finals, hanging out with my friends, watching t.v. shows that I love to an insane degree, or bouncing off the walls because of a massive intake of sugar (WHEEE!). This journal (much like my main lj) is likely to be odd... much like me. Sometimes I'll pour my heart out ("Now is the winter of my discontent"), sometimes I'll be random ("I have two feet... and socks!")
