Hawkwind

Hawkwind on 1969. aasta novembris asutatud inglise rokkansambel. See oli üks varasemaid space rock 'i ansambleid.

Ansambli laulja ja kitarrist on Dave Brock. Aastatel 1971–1975 mängis ansamblis basskitarri Lemmy Kilmister.

Hawkwind on teinud pikka aega koostööd inglise ulmekirjaniku Michael Moorcockiga. 1975. aasta alguses salvestas ansambel plaadi "Warrior on the Edge of Time", mis põhineb Moorcocki teoseid läbival igavese kangelase (Eternal Champion) motiivil. Taas kasutati Michael Moorcocki laulusõnu ja häält kolmel 1981. aastal salvestatud plaadil: "Sonic Attack", "Church of Hawkwind" ja "Choose Your Masques".

Koostöö tipuks kujunes nende ambitsioonikaim projekt "The Chronicle of the Black Sword" (1985), mille aluseks oli Moorcocki fantaasiaromaanide sari võlur Elricust, keda laval kehastas Tony Crerar. Moorcock kirjutas projekti laulusõnad, ent esines ise vaid mõnel kontserdil. Kontserditurnee salvestiste põhjal anti välja plaat "Live Chronicles" ja video "The Chronicle of the Black Sword". Kuuldused, mille kohaselt olevat ansambel nime saanud Moorcocki tegelase Hawkmooni järgi, on kirjanik siiski ümber lükanud.
