Yes, I am most at home with towering buildings, dense populations, and noisy machinery... but it doesn't mean that I don't feel the strong Love You and Keep You* that chapparral seems to have for me when I do venture out. The thought that this may be soon be lost is deeply saddening.
I really should know better than to wake up to NPR/Public Radio in the morning... and inflicting it on someone else was entirely inconsiderate. Particularly as this article was followed by the report on this weekend's suicide bombers in Iraq. "Good morning Starshine! Sorry about the death and stuff. Have a bowl of Cheerios..."
