Tonight I have learned that when a train strikes a vehicle on the tracks the passengers on board only feel an innocouos bump.

The car in question was fortunately unoccupied, unlike the vehicle this same train hit earlier today (not a great day for crossing tracks.)

I have been stuck in the marshes west of Fremont for an hour and a half so far. <sigh>
