...more audible sobbing than I have heard from any movie theater audience since Dancer in the Dark*.

I am still a bit jangly; it touched a lot of the post-prop 8 sadness (and anger) that I haven't yet settled.

*(unlike Dancer in the Dark, this film deserved the tears)

I haven't seen it yet... really should...

Have you seen Waltz With Bashir?

No, but it is on my list. Admittedly, I don't actually get around to seeing many movies that are on my list unless someone else plans it... <sigh>

Yeah, same for me (which is why I haven't yet seen Milk or Slumdog or Coraline).

If you were closer I'd take you to see it.

Waltz With Bashir was really excellent. I went without knowing much at all about it, and we basically chose it because we'd liked Persepolis. Oh my goodness did we get more than we bargained for in all kinds of ways. It had me crying five minutes in.

Yeah, while I Do Not Cry At Movies it was definitely moving. I think what hit me hardest was the Sisyphusian 'It's been 30 years and we're still fighting the same battle.'

No kidding. I spent today in Texas, wondering idly on and off all day whether it was advisable to make the effort to stay in the closet to my clients. Who, if they have any Google fu at all, probably know anyway. But Texas. And professional hat. Gah.

I loathe the fake and mandatory socializing in business situations for this reason. Either you dare to be unacceptable, or you endanger your company. (I don't care if they don't like me. I do care if they cost my boss business because they're bigots.)

And we're still here.
