"29 an really looking to change career while I feel I'm still young enough. Wanted to do such for a long time.......but discouraged by friends for a long time because I'm a man and they think I would be unemployable in Ireland.....But hey I'm seriously considering it. What do others think?. And do others enjoy it?
Hello everyone. I'm new to this community, and I'm currently in school for esthetics. When I graduate, I would like to work on cruise ships. Has anyone in this community worked on cruises before? I've heard good and bad things about it. Could anyone tell me more about it? Do they really work you 7 days a week, with 12 hour days? I'd appreciate any information you can give me. Help a sista out!
Im doing a paper on this profession and would love to hear from people who are working/worked as an esthetician. Anyone interested in answering a few questions please shout out, would be appreciated ;) Thanks.
I've been working a day spa for almost 5 years and I make 50% commission. An opportunity has possibly opened up for me at a spa that rents rooms to it's estheticians. So, basically after the cost of the rent, everything that I would make would go to me. Has anyone else done this? I guess I'm so used to doing it one way that the idea of renting is a little bit scary, but seems like it could work out pretty well in my favor!
What should I look for in a school? What questions should I ask? Is there somethings taught in some but not others I schould look for? sorry if i'm annoying, you help is greatly appreciated!
hey all. I'm new to this community & I have a bunch of questions! I'm mainly interested in becomming an esthetician. There a few schools in my area mostly brand name (Cinci-Dayton, Ohio). I was wondering if any of you have attended any of these types. There's a Aveda, Paul Mitchell, a Carousel(I dunno if they are nation wide but I do know they are a chain), and a Pivot Point/ Matrix design school. The Aveda & Paul Mitchell are kinda far away but I would make the drive if it is worth it & would help get me a better job. Also I was wondering how much is it for the program at any of these school, i know I could just call & find out lol. Also what can I expect to make as a esthetician? I know it varies b/w states and areas but I really can't even find a ballpark number. and finally.... do you learn things such as microderm abrasion and peels in school? Is that even in the scope of practice for an esthetician? Is there a step up (as in education)?
thanks soo much sorry for all the questions. I already have an associates degree and I'm quitting college for this so I want to make sure to make the right choices.
I'm going in for the practical part of my interview... I was wondering what I can expect? They haven't really given me much information other then the products used. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
