Writer's Block: Ticket, Please

What is your favorite vacation spot in the world and why do you love it so much -- is it the activities, the people, the sheer beauty, etc? Would you live there full time if you could, or do you prefer to keep it as a special treat?

Um, hello? PENNSIC, of course. :) I go for the people and the chance to relax and, quite literally, get away from it all (although that's harder and harder to do every year with the advent of such portable modern conveniences like smart phones and such). It's my annual battery recharge. :)

Oh, and I don't think I'd live there permanently, but I would love to someday have a permanent structure there rather than having to set up a tent every time. If I had that and other people were interested, I'd vacation there more often than once a year.

Music & Me

Over the last couple of weeks I've found myself suddenly listening to music again for the first time in years...

So that's it. Just random musings about my music from an ex-music major. :)

(Oh, and speaking of Broadway and such, does it make me a bad brother or uncle that I convinced my sister to take her 14-year-old daughter to see Avenue Q in NYC this past weekend? Apparently she's singing "The Internet Is For Porn" all over the house now. Hee hee!)

Anybody Jott?

Anyone else on Jott.com? I'm sure some of my more tech- and web-savvy friends already know of it, but a friend just pointed it out to me and I think it's nifty. It's a free audio-to-text transcription service where you speak your message to someone as if you were leaving a voicemail, then it transcribes it, sends the text to the person's phone, and also sends the actual voice recording to them via e-mail. If nothing else, it's a great way to text while driving. :) You can also set up reminders for yourself and a few other things I haven't explored yet.

Gotta love technology!
