My woke take, as someone who has worked in both a public library and a school library, is that we desperately need both more books that are at a higher reading level but a less mature subject matter, and more books that are at a lower reading level but a more mature subject matter, because 8 year olds who are advanced readers are still 8 year olds and don't want to read about graphic violence and torture, and teens and adults who have learning difficulties or who are just later readers for whatever reason are still teens and adults and don't want to read about Billy the Bunny going to school or whatever the hell.

RGCU Gracetime Weekend

It's eeeearly Saturday morning, I FINALLY have a free/alone time weekend and I'm fired up thinking about how much fic writing and Ryland Grace adoration I want to stuff into it.

I want to keep writing my stalker!driver drivinglessons fic that was cruelly sidelined by irl work obligations for all of July. I care deeply about it and want to write it well. Priority #1.

I kinda want to write Sixgrace monster/abo-adjacent au oneshot where Grace runs through some big building, complex or town with a feral bloodthirsty Court chasing after him, knowing Court will crush any bad guys Grace runs past, effectively wielding Court like a weapon to clear the area of baddies. Grace reveals this was his plan at the end and Court is fucking mad and locks them in their house for forced alone time at the end.

I also kinda want to write a mostly humorous toned Pokemon au oneshot where various RyGos's are gathered in some tournament area vying to face some to-be-revealed champion, with a handful of them admiring how cute and perfect generic area employee Grace is. Only to reveal at the end Grace is the champion (unwillingly appointed) and he has a team of mostly smallish unassuming Pokemon and also a Latias and/or Dragonite.

Back in ye olde 2010s when the Naruto fandom was my life, I treated Sakura Haruno like this lol. Fics where all the guys' eyes were on her were called MultiSaku fics...I'm channeling my hs self again by cooking these 'MultiGrace' ideas.
