Fics Are All Around!

This year, I was foolish enough to do not one but two holiday fic exchanges. Fortunately, I managed to a) finish things for both, and b) get absolutely amazing gifts in return!

For yuletide, my own fic is still anon, but I received Summer Rain, based on the song "Jolene." It reads as an original high fantasy short story with fun worldbuilding, political intrigue, and lots of play with genderbending, interesting female leads, and sexualities. I love it, and you should totally read it!

For alumpofcoul, I received A Friend in Need, by the superlatively generous ladydeathfaerie. It's a long, delicious Avengers fic in which Pepper, Phil, and Clint join forces to top Tony and help get him out of his head, and it's filled with all sorts of sexy kink. I'm so delighted by it (and a little disturbed at how apparently predictable my literary kinks are? :-D).

Finally, also for alumpofcoul, I Did a Thing.

Specifically, I decided that rather than picking a particular pairing and writing a story about them, it was a good plan to incorporate all of my recipient's pairings into a Choose Your Own Adventure erotic romp. All I can say is, hey, I had fun. :-D

You're a Good Man, Phil Coulson
by Sinope, for allofthefandoms
Rating: explicit (no warnings)
Kinks: many, mostly BDSM-related (see the endnotes if you want details)
Possible pairings: Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson/Natasha Romanov, Phil Coulson/Pepper Potts, Phil Coulson/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Phil Coulson/Nick Fury, Phil Coulson/Steve Rogers, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson/Pepper Potts/Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanov/Tony Stark

Summary:
You are Philip J. Coulson: agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., mild-mannered spy, part-time resident of Stark Avengers Tower, and part-time babysitter for a team of agents investigating budding superheroes. It's a busy life, but the rewards are worth it.

(A kinky, polyamorous "Choose Your Own Adventure" fic.)

"God help the outcasts, or nobody will."

Spent this evening watching The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Netflix. I adored this movie when I was younger, and it's no surprise why. Cathedrals and medieval Europe, songs and hymns, pining and obsession, religion as a source of both evil and good.

But even more than that, it's easy to see the lessons I absorbed. Being different is nothing to be ashamed of. Chosen family will support you through anything. Those entrenched in structures of power will oppress the marginalized, all the while justifying it by Othering their victims.

I probably can't blame the movie for making me a liberal. It certainly didn't hurt, though.

Links to Avengers Fic

It's been a really long time since I linked my Avengers fic on LJ, and I've written quite a few things in the past few months. Oops. I'll try to post links more promptly in future.

I think it works best simply to link AO3 from LJ -- everything is there, you can leave comments anonymously, and all the stories have more complete warnings and tags attached. Let me know if anyone prefers that I post actual copies of the fics on LJ.

The fics are in chronological order within each category.

Thinky/Serious/Actually Good Fics

Twentieth Time's the Charm (Clint Barton/Tony Stark, Bruce Banner/Tony Stark, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): Clint and Tony get laid, have fun, and eventually fall in love, but not necessarily with each other. Polyamory, friendship, and different kinds of love.

compromising factors and The Moral of the Story (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): Sequels in my darker/more amoral SHIELD 'verse. Featuring non-sexual submission.

The Cousin of Death: In which Tony Stark is a slave owner who likes to be held down, Steve will always fight for freedom, Phil lost his ideals but regains them, and Bruce sets interesting legal precedents. A slavery AU and a WIP, so be warned on both fronts.

To Being an Us (For Once) (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): Clint's been keeping a few things in the dark. Fortunately, it's the season of lights. (Or: four times that someone used the Avengers to make a statement, and one time that Clint made a statement of his own.) An Advent fic that deals with illness.

Fluffy Fics

Baby, It's Bad Out There (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): A winter storm, a motel room with a handsome stranger, and a well-timed power outage: Clint kept trying to tell himself that he was catching a lucky break, not acting out the opening scenes for a cheap porno.

Feels So Good (Feelin' Good Again) (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson) Clint's home sick. Phil makes him chicken noodle soup. Foodporn, snuggles, and unadulterated schmoop ensue. Featuring gratuitous foodporn.

K-I-S-S-I-N-G (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): It all starts with a baby in a baby carriage. Phil and Clint go about everything backwards, but at least they end up in the right place.

Kinky/Porny Fics

Unforeseen Applications (Clint Barton/Tony Stark): Clint has unusual fantasies; Tony has unusual abilities. This works out in everyone's favor. (Alternately: "Consentacles!")

equilibrium constant (Bruce Banner/Tony Stark): All Bruce had to do was maintain equilibrium. Easy. Predicament bondage and intelligence!kink.

Epergne (Clint Barton/Phil Coulson/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark): Clint, Phil, and Steve enjoy a delicious spread of meze. Tony's the guest of honor (and the serving platter). Foodporn with a side of mildly kinky sexporn.

Satiety (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark): From a kinkmeme prompt: "Tony builds a fucking machine designed specifically for Steve. It fucks him for hours, through multiple orgasms until he's sore to the point of crying and begs for it to stop. Once Steve can't come anymore, Tony unties him and plays with his sore hole. Then he fucks him. Afterwards, he licks his cum out of Steve." Contains exactly what it says on the box.

Pocket Full of Stones (Phil Coulson/Tony Stark): Tony makes a decision that's hard for him to accept. Phil takes his punishment out of his hands. D/s play and second-person POV.

In-Flight Entertainment (Phil Coulson/Tony Stark, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson): Tony has to hitch a ride home in the Quinjet, and he's bored. Coulson keeps him entertained. An audience may or may not be involved. (Basically, just an excuse for shameless Quinjet smut.)

Fic: You're Living in the Past (It's a New Generation)

So I did this avengers_rbb thing -- my first Big Bang fic of any kind, hooray! I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

FIC: "Perfect," Avengers, Hawkeye/Phil Coulson

Title: Perfect
Pairing: Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, R
Length: 8,271 words
Summary: "But you were at least interested in men, right?" In which Loki left Clint with an extra gift, and everything is perfect, right up until it isn't.

Note: This fic deals with issues of sexuality and a subject that may be interpreted as dub-con. Please see the endnotes for spoilery warnings if you're concerned about triggers. It's also not exactly a happy story.

This is one of those stories that I'm really proud of.

FIC: "everyone has a price," Avengers, Hawkeye/Phil Coulson

Title: everyone has a price
Pairing: Clint Barton/Phil Coulson, PG-13
