Welcome Message

Hello and welcome to Eoin Macken Daily, the LJ community in which we appreciate Eoin Macken's many talents! I'm not normally one to trail-blaze, but when I couldn't find any up-to-date communities for Eoin, I figured I had nothing to lose by creating one. If anyone else wants to help moderate/run this community, by all means please send me a message, as I'm new to this and welcome advice! Plus, as a masters student, a co-moderator would certainly help if/when this community becomes popular. However, that being said, I will be posting news, tidbits, photos, etc of Eoin everyday, unless my internet flails or there's some sort of personal emergency.

The lovely layout was made bythecheekydragon!

Also, feel free to post stuff, too! After all, the point of this was to share. Topics include:
  • Pictures
  • Graphics
  • Fan works
  • Related links
  • Discussion
  • Merlin
  • Eoin's projects
  • News
  • Encounter stories
  • Anything Eoin related and appropriate!

So I suppose I should post the guidelines/rules/important points? In no particular order...

1. Obviously, as this is an Eoin Macken community, it helps if you appreciate him and/or his work
2. No flames. Let's all try to get along :)
3. BUT if you have a problem with another member, please keep it private and out of public posts/comments
4. Please keep posts and comments PG-13. I'd love for this community to be accessible to as many age groups as possible
5. If, however, you wish to post something above PG-13, I believe there's a filter for adult content?
6. I take numbers 2-5 very seriously. You should, too
7. For image-heavy posts, give a preview photo then the rest under a cut
8. Questions/concerns, contact me
9. I don't know Eoin personally
10. Finally, enjoy!

This picture looks sort of welcoming, doesn't it? >>
welcome

Eoin at the National Television Awards 2013

I'm sorry about the font! I don't know what happened!

Eoin was at the National Television Awards tonight along with Alexander Vlahos, Rupert Young, Bradley James, and Colin Morgan to represent Merlin. Merlin ended up losing to Downton Abbey, but Colin Morgan ended up snatching an award for Best Male Performance in a Drama. Eoin tweeted that he was in a suit and tie, wearing cowboy boots because he couldn't find his dress shoes.

For those out there missing the facial hair, it has come back in full force.

Photos follow the cut!

Clean-Shaven!

Alas, I don't have an iphone so cannot actually save the picture. But Eoin's clean-shaven for the first time in a year apparently. He looks so young! And soft. It's a nice change, because normally I prefer my men clean-shaven anyways. XD

So yeah, click here for the picture.

Merlin Finale

Hi everyone,

Do we need to talk about this? I don't know if you've seen it (I haven't, but between Eoin's twitter and tumblr, I feel like I have), but maybe a hug is in order. If for no other reason than this having been the final episode ever (the non-spoilerish reason). Gotta hand it to the writers--if people don't already dislike Christmas, they will now. This one, at least. XD

Eoin Playing With Novelty Hat and Mittens

Eoin recently retweeted a photo of himself drinking wine and consulting two unicorns for mittens (Bob and George) about what to buy people for Christmas. Also appearing in the photo is a novelty pink unicorn hat (Darren) attached to the mittens. It's a hilarious photo, in my opinion.

Apologies and Picspam

I'm so sorry I haven't updated; my laptop died, and I only just got a new one as an early Christmas present. That, and the fact that the professor I TA for left before the semester ended to collect data for her research paper, so all the final gradings--final exams, final papers, and totaling final grades--were left to me... Which would ordinarily be fine, except that due to a shortage of biological anthropology classes to TA, some bio anthro students--i.e. me--were assigned to TA cultural anthropology courses. I'd only taken a few cultural classes in my undergrad and the one required in grad school, so I had to do some spot research for many of the papers to assess their accuracy.

But I'm back now. Semester's over, grades have been totaled and submitted, brand new laptop. So as an apology, I have an extra large picspam. XD

Starting with Dr. Macken because I love this picture (Brad Grimmet's twitter, click for larger)
