Summary: Draco misses Harry after a quarrel, but he has ways of getting himself invited into Harry's home again.

Draco Apparated to Harry's front door and turned the handle. It refused to open to him. Still angry, then, he thought. He had given Harry time to reconsider since their last meeting, when Harry had realized Draco was a vampire. They'd had quite a row, and Harry had uninvited Draco, effectively barring Draco from his home. Harry had refused any further attempts Draco had made to contact him.

Draco knew he should have informed Harry that he was a vampire, but there had never seemed to be a right time to broach the subject. Unfortunately for Draco, Harry had discovered the truth on his own, and he was convinced Draco had deliberately kept the information from him for nefarious purposes. Nothing could be further from the truth; Draco had simply been afraid of losing his lover, and now that it had come to pass, he was determined to win Harry back.

All he had to do was get through the front door...uninvited.

When the doorbell rang, Harry took the precaution of peering through the peephole. He was anticipating that Draco would show up soon, offering feeble excuses as to why he hadn't bothered to reveal the minor detail that he was a vampire.

Harry didn't see anyone at the door, which only made him more suspicious. He drew his wand and cast a quick spell, but it indicated there was no one nearby. Cautiously, Harry opened the door. There was a plain brown box on the front step. He cast additional spells to check for danger, but all he could determine was that a live animal was inside the box. There were no air holes.

Harry swore and snatched the box up to bring it inside. He opened it, and reared back with a startled yelp as something sprang forth and began flitting about the parlor. Harry's eyes tracked it, and he realized it was a bat. Who would have sent him a bat?

"Draco!" Harry spat.

At the sound of his name, Draco transformed into his inhuman self once more.

"Harry, I can ex-"

"You!" hissed Harry. "How dare you trick your way into my home?!"

"Because you wouldn't see me, and I had to see you!" cried Draco.

"Why? So you can bleed me dry?" It was an unfair jab, and Harry knew it. He actually felt guilty when Draco literally flinched.

"I would never harm you," Draco said, "but if you think so little of me, perhaps it's best I leave." He headed for the door.

"Draco, wait."

Draco halted, but he didn't turn around.

Harry wrapped his arms around himself and began to pace. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked quietly. "Didn't you trust me?"

Draco looked back at Harry. "I was scared," he admitted.

This surprised Harry. "Scared of what?" he asked.

Draco turned his face away. "Scared that you would cast me out of your life," he said.

Harry's heart skipped a beat. He had done exactly what Draco had feared when he learned his lover was a vampire. "Draco," he whispered, uncrossing his arms and reaching out to him. He brushed Draco's shoulder. "You being a vampire is not what upsets me," said Harry. "I was angry that you kept something so vital and intrinsic to yourself from me. It made me worry about what other secrets you may be hiding."

Draco covered Harry's hand with his own. "I meant to tell you, truly I did," he said. "I thought I would wait until the right moment, but it never seemed to present itself. Then, the longer I put it off, the more difficult it became. I couldn't bear to have you disappointed in me."

There was so much to discuss, Harry knew. The fact that Draco was a vampire was an important issue, and there would be obstacles to overcome. However, all that mattered right now was that Draco was here, and he was hurting. They both were, but they didn't have to be. For tonight, at least, they could put the larger issues aside and simply be together.

"Draco," he murmured, pressing close. "I've missed you."

"You could always invite me back into your bed," Draco responded with a hopeful smile.

Harry kissed the corner of Draco's mouth and replied, "You were never uninvited from my bed."
