kiila
See also: Kiila
Finnish
editEtymology
editBorrowed from Middle Low German kīl (“wedge”), possibly but not necessarily through Swedish kil (“wedge”). Even an older Proto-Germanic borrowing has been suggested, but this runs into phonetic difficulties (the Low German word derives from earlier *kīþla-).
