• Today, in some parts of Batangas, sense “month” is pronounced as búwan ( /ˈbuan/) while “moon” is pronounced as buwán (/buˈan/). Both senses were pronounced búwan around the 19th century according to the Spanish dictionaries but now both buwán in Standard Tagalog. Other Southern dialects may still reflect búwan for both senses today.
