    From Middle Cornish boh, from Old Cornish uoch, from Proto-Brythonic *box, borrowed through Vulgar Latin from Latin bucca (cheek). Cognate with Breton boc'h (cheek), Welsh boch (cheek), Scottish Gaelic bòc (surge, swell).
