- 1914, 夏目漱石 [Natsume Sōseki], chapter 35, in こゝろ [Kokoro], 上 先生と私 [Sensei and I]:
- 玄関と門の間にあるこんもりした木犀の一株が、私の行手を塞ぐように、夜陰のうちに枝を張っていた。
- Genkan to mon no aida ni aru konmori shita mokusei no hitokabu ga, watakushi no yukute o fusegu yō ni, yain no uchi ni eda o hatte ita.
