Portraits
editHello I am a member of the WikiPortrait, which is a project dedicated to getting more high-quality, Creative Commons licensed portraits for WikiMedia Commons and Wikipedia. I've noticed that many articles on even the most prominent scientists working today are lacking portraits. Is there any way for either myself or another member of WikiPortraits could help with this? SpiritedMichelle (talk) 18:04, 4 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi SpiritedMichelle. I can't find any information on this effort so it is unclear what you can offer and what input you're looking for. Portraits on biography articles are always welcome AFAIC. ~Kvng (talk) 15:51, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hey @SpiritedMichelle,
- I would like to help out but the best bet, is to cold email these scientists, and hope they can send across a portrait to Wikimedia. After they give the permission we can upload the same. Feel free to email me so we can probably work on this.
- Best,

- This sounds like a fun idea and I'd be interested in helping. I'm not sure how WikiPortrait would factor into this though. ~Kvng (talk) 02:45, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- Perhaps, WikiPortrait could help in sending those emails? But again I feel us as individuals editors too could. I am also a member of the India Research Watch, and through it have some connections with Indian academics. I could perhaps use that channel as well or maybe connect back with Researchers I knew from my alma mater at University of Pennsylvania and IIT Delhi Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 03:47, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Kvng@SpiritedMichelle I was wondering if both of you wvuld want to start this work. I could start curating a list and sending emails, Best Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 18:39, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
- A list would be a good start. Does WikiPortraits already have a master list of biographies without portraits? ~Kvng (talk) 13:33, 29 April 2026 (UTC)

Could Someone Review my AfC
editHi,
I am affiliated with the group India Research Watch, and I recently created a draft article for its founder, Draft:Achal Agrawal. Our organization focuses on investigating and documenting cases of academic dishonesty in India, and I believed that a standalone article on Achal would be appropriate.
Given my conflict of interest, I have not moved the draft into mainspace and am instead submitting it through AfC. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could review the draft and provide feedback or suggestions for improvement. Thank you for your time. Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 23:56, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Please add reliable sources. I'm not familiar enough to help. Thanks in advance. Bearian (talk) 18:03, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

The article Sonic soot blowers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unreferenced for 15 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced with spammy external links
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 00:09, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

The article Pneumatic web guides has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Tagged for notability concerns for 10 years. Completely unsourced for close to 17 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Requires a complete re-write. Created by a SPA with about 16 edits.

I'm confused by this, and am not sure if it's notable. Please discuss. Bearian (talk) 22:25, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
- It is proported related to Lagrangian coherent structure which is also not easy to understand. Eulerian coherent structure is determined to be not-notable, it could be merged into Lagrangian coherent structure as an WP:ATD. ~Kvng (talk) 14:45, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks. I took 7 math(s) classes in college and graduate schools and still have no clue. Bearian (talk) 15:12, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
