Uppslagsverket Finland

edit

Uppslagsverket Finland is licensed under CC-BY-SA 4.0, which means that its content can be translated and used as a basis for Wikipedia articles (per WP:COPYOTHERS). The images fall under a different license and cannot be imported. The articles are usually of good quality, even if sometimes brief, and I would recommend it as a resource.

The template for attributing a direct copy is {{Creative Commons text attribution notice|cc=by4|url=}}. Is there a better attribution template for a translation of a CC-BY-SA 4.0 source? Jähmefyysikko (talk) 06:07, 12 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Municipalities of Finland

edit

Hey. Yesterday I stumbled upon the high importance classed article "Municipalities of Finland" and found glaring issues such as outdated duties and outdated information about the use of the mayoral model. Reference to public discussion of the topic, aswell as the reforms caused by the discussion, ends at 2019. A lot of that material must be expanded on and moved to the history section with the article then needing a new section on public debate. The state and quality of the article is overall disappointing.

I have remedied the most pressing functions and governance issues in the article. However, as a new editor I do not feel I am the most qualified to update for the section covering current discussion in the article. I would also apreciate it if someone who might have a better grasp on municipal governance before this decade would complete the revamp of the history section. As such, I ask for the assistance of this project in bringing the article back to actually representing local goverment in Finland. Your participation is much apreciated Finfixer (talk) 05:58, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sourcing help

edit

Hello all, I've started a draft translating the Police Museum article from finnish wiki. I'm having trouble finding enough secondary sources, as the fi article basically only sources from the museum of the website itself. Im not sure if this indicates lack of notability to the extent that I shouldn't complete the draft, but if not then any help would be appreciated -- especially if you speak finnish proficiently. I would say im somewhat fluent but I think language is part of why Im having a hard time with this. Draft can be found here (title subject to change). Thanks in advance! Happy editing, InRRainbows Lets chat! 11:08, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
