Manual request for Infobox correction - Irfan Faiz Abbasi

edit

Irfan Faiz Abbasi (talk) 18:12, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm not seeing an actual request here, but if you wish to make a request to update an article, the best place to do so would be at the Talk page for that article. DonIago (talk) 21:23, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Which editor?

edit

We often have to ask people which editor they are using, which can be confusing for them and long-winded for us to explain.

I have made Wikipedia:Which editor? to which we can refer such people. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:01, 18 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

I Done a Whoopsie?

edit

I think I may have broken something on the currently last Help desk query Unblock requests, perhaps by using self-cobbled coding to insert two 'trademark' symbols. At any rate, I find I can no longer edit the section at all. Can anybody check if it is broken, and if so mop up my mess? Thanks. {The poster formerly knwn as 87.81.230.195} ~2026-76101-8 (talk) 14:11, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@~2026-76101-8: It's probably because a new section has been started after it. Go to the page and force a refresh (often control + F5), and things should clear up. DuncanHill (talk) 14:34, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for responding, Duncan. Have now tried that, and still get a "There was an error while loading the form. To continue, you will need to reload the page." message. This after having closed Wikipedia and then later opened it again to look up something completely different. Never mind, I was only trying to correct a trivial typo. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} ~2026-76101-8 (talk) 15:31, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@~2026-76101-8: I assume you mean Wikipedia:Help_desk#Unblock_requests? I don't see any reason it won't open for you. What address do you end up at when you try to edit it? Try going to here. DuncanHill (talk) 19:31, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Given that you frequent the help desk I presume you've seen recent discussions with similar issues, but I wonder/suspect it's at least not something you did, unless you and the two people who asked on the help desk and one person who asked at VPT have some common denominator... Adding scam warning to header

edit

Currently, there's a good few threads on the help desk about scam emails. I'm suggesting adding this to the header:

"If someone asks for money to edit or create a Wikipedia article, it is a scam. For more information, see Wikipedia:Scam warning."

Any thoughts? CheeseAndJamSamdwich (talk) 20:10, 21 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Forum for dabprimary question

edit

I started writing this:

I believe {{{dabprimary}} would be appropriate on Warning and Help, but I would like to hear if at least one or two other editors agrees with this. (This forum might seem strange for this question, but out of AI, VPM and RFC, I think that this might be the best place.) ~~~~

I wonder; is it best to ask this on the help desk (as I thought when I wrote the above), or on each of the dab page talk pages and then posting a request on the help desk for attention to each of them? Utfor (talk) 19:01, 25 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is the talk page of the Help desk, not the Help desk itself. This page should be used for discussing the help desk itself, not asking general editing questions.
In answer to your question, the best place to discuss them would probably be on the talk pages of the articles themselves, or you could just WP:BEBOLD and add it. {{GearsDatapacks|talk|contribs|in solidarity}} 19:06, 25 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
User:GearsDatapacks Thank you for your answer. I am aware this is the talk page of the help desk. I chose it because my question was phrased as to whether the help desk would be the right place. Anyway, thanks! I will BEBOLD and just leave a short note on each talk page. Utfor (talk) 19:13, 25 June 2026 (UTC); edited by Utfor (talk) 19:17, 25 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
