Interceptor (CVPI)[a] is a mobile and desktop counter-vandalism tool for rollbackers. It shows recent changes in real time and allows recent changes patrollers to quickly rollback vandalism. Interceptor runs in-browser on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Requirements

edit

Interceptor requires rollback permissions.

Installation

edit

Method 1

edit

Install using the button in the infobox (if you don't see the button, go to Preferences Gadgets Advanced and turn on "Install scripts without having to manually edit JavaScript files").

Method 2

edit

Add {{subst:iusc|User:TonySt/CVPI.js}} as a new line to your common.js.

Features

edit
  • Interceptor was written to work as well on your phone as it does on your computer.
  • Few API calls are made compared to similar diff viewers. This means it runs well on nearly all devices, but you also might see trusted users in your feed from time-to-time.
  • You see the combined sum of consecutively made edits by a single user. In other words, the diff you see isn't just their most recent edit — it's everything that would be reverted if you roll back.
  • When you roll back or warn a user, their future edits are always shown to you unless you say otherwise. The list of monitored users resets when you exit.
  • MLRS: Users are automatically monitored if multiple other rollbackers (including bots) roll back their edits.
  • You will almost always only see the latest version of any page. If the page is changed while you're looking at an edit, it will fade and become italic.

Usage

edit

Visit Wikipedia:Interceptor/run after installation to begin using the tool. You can also get to that page by clicking the Interceptor link in the same menu where you find your Wikipedia preferences.

  • Use Next and Previous to cycle through diffs, or
  • on mobile, swipe right or swipe left
  • on computer, press the or keys

Toolbar

edit
  • Monitor adds the currently-shown editor to your monitored users list
  • Vandalism immediately rolls back and issues the appropriate (escalating) uw-vandalism user warning template
  • Pushing this button when the editor is already at a level 4 warning will also automatically report the editor to AIV
  • Dashboard is where all of the other warning types live:
  • On desktop, click the "auto level" button for a given warning type to immediately rollback and issue the appropriate (escalating) warning. You can also choose a manual warning level.
  • On mobile, you have to tap the name of the warning first to unlock it.
  • Other (AGF) and Other both bring up a text box to enter a reason for the rollback. After the reason is submitted, it opens the user's talk page so you can add a warning using Twinkle. You can turn that off in settings.
  • Report to AIV reports the user to AIV after you enter a reason for the report.[b]

Settings

edit
  • Adjust the ORES score threshold by opening the menu in the top right corner. Use the + and - buttons to either side of the threshold (default is 0.15). Edits with an ORES score below this threshold are hidden. Setting this to 0 will show all edits regardless of whether they're "good" or "bad"; setting it to a higher setting will show you only supposedly "bad" edits.
  • Enable or disable the feature where the user's talk page opens automatically if you use the "Other" or "Other (AGF)" buttons.
